Independant Sage saying we should have waited to relax till the booster programme is dome and teenagers are vaccinated.

I think they like restrictions as much as I like the blues.

They will then suggest we wait to vaccinate all pigeons.

Anyone know how long till cases start falling or some degree of herd immunity? I know that's a "how longs a piece of string" question but i really just mean a best guesstimate. I'm immune suppressed so planning on staying in out the way till cases get low again. I'm hoping with that it's obviously gonna rip through the rest of the unvaccinated that with along with the jabbed it might only be 2 or 3 mths till this may be behind us, god willing.

It can't be far off, I'd like to think by September it'll be a lot lower ?

I just hope pubs keep table service, don't give a shit about being able to go to stand at a bar again why go back to jostling with others to get served.

Spoons had before this hit so I'd imagine some of the bigger chain pubs will keep it too.

Yep. Pub owners and bar staff largely hate table service, it's knackering and costly.

Young chap in Sheffield last night desperate to get back to serving me at the bar rather than having to make 4 trips out to my table to deliver and collect pints and bring card machine, even though I tipped him a couple of quid out of sympathy.

Most people confuse "bar service" with "loitering at the bar". I just want to pay for and collect my pint at the bar and then sit down (happy to wear a mask to do that) and most regular pubgoers I know are the same. Not all pubs are like the Northern Quarter ones where there's a queue at the bar, especially on a wet Wednesday in Stockport.

think tomorrow’s wet Wednesday in Stockport might be a bit different

he didn’t seem phased as he said the hospital numbers and deaths should be low due to the success of the vacccines Even with high cases.

Personally I don't think they will get any lower than what they are now for the foreseeable. Double jabbed people are getting it, but it seems the vaccine stopes them passing as bad a version of the virus on, so although cases will still be there, it will be a much different virus. Didn't the jab end up producing antibodies when you had the test? Or does that not matter when immune suppressed?

Suzannah and Richard had the bullets ready for him and he shut them right up with the stats. Fair play to him was good to see a politician answer questions honestly and factually, was impressive.

I think the rise in cases is as the variant makes it right round the country, in order to get an idea of herd immunity you need to watch the figures in the NW, in which case it appears to be flattening somewhat and hopefully will start to decrease soon enough.

To be honest with the total easement of restrictions and the vunerable now pretty much protected letting it rip through society in summer may be part of the plan.

I agree with the immune response through vaccination and previous covid infections is in the population, there should be in theory a buffer to prevent deaths occurring on the rate we had in January.
