England were the slightly better side and deservedly went through.

The Ref got both penalty decisions absolutely wrong - Kane was fouled in the box - not called. And Sterling was brushed by a defender and then went down - called for a penalty. Not for me. Sterling intentionally went down after the slightest of contact - but the contact wasn't sufficient IMO to warrant a penalty.

In the Euros, VAR decisions are much more rapid and I like, overall, how VAR is working in the Euros. Yet, for me, the foul on Kane should have been overturned by VAR as should have the foul on Sterling.
So you didn't see Kane kick the defender on the calf before he then flopped over in the box?

How strange.

You also didn't see Sterling get hit around the hip area either.

Even stranger.

I would be happy to have that ref do every single one of City's games next season.

I watched both penalty decisions closely. Kane was fouled. Sterling went down after soft contact. Kane - penalty. Sterling - not a penalty.

It's controversial though, I suppose.

and, for example

So again you didn't see him kick the defender on the calf before any other perceived incident that would have made Kane flop over in the box?

How can you not see him kick the defender lol

But if this is what we do to make a point correct I'll play.

Kane - not a penalty

Sterling - penalty

His right knee was knocked first then his left knee was knocked running at speed, even the fucking Pope would have gone down, some people need glasses the contact was high up at knee level, watch the replay. Sterling one of the best players in the world and he is playing for us, along with Foden, Walker, and Stones, made me very proud to be a City fan, City changing the face of football for the better, all we need now is Kane and Grealish.

Taking a break from the Sterling/Penalty issue, anyone know who the visually impaired sports ‘reporter’ is that does the player ratings for Sky?

A 6 for Kyle “Full marks for the critical covering run and tackle to stop Damsgaard when the Danish forward broke through but unable to offer anything of note going forward and his distribution was erratic. But when England needed experience and clear heads, he didn't make a mistake.”, BUT AN 8 for Maguire !WTF? AND Stones was also given a 6!

And whilst Sterling was given an 8, so was Saka ?

Was I watching a different game ?
And a 7 for Grealish but just a 6 for Phil

See video and commentary above. Again, I watched both decisions carefully - and I disagree with the ref on both.

Kane fouled the danish player just before the foul on him, so not a pen as ref had already called a foul by kane before he himself was tripped

England fans will never behave ,the team is not creative just functional and i am not supporting players that are not ours , forza bobby

yesterday at one point, England had Walker, Stones, Sterling and Foden all playing for England, giving everything for their country.

and you will be supporting Italy on Sunday. deary me.

One clear test every time of whether they were tripped or dived. Tripped and the arms instinctively go outwards to break the fall. This isn't a choice is an involuntary action. Where they dive the arms go upwards to try to accentuate the fall. Sterling's arms go outwards. I wish more refs and pundits would recognise this.

On Sterling haters, believe me, I've met City fans who just wait for him to fail and slag him off constantly. Weird fuckers.

I don't need to see a video, I watched it live and the replays last night.

He kicked the defender first and that renders anything after that null and void because he fouled the defender, hence the reason why the ref didn't give a penalty but also why he gave them a free kick, I mean, that is the massive clue for you right there.

If the ref has waved play on, then you would have a point but he didn't as he saw Kane kick the defender, that it is the part you keep blinking at and missing it.

So like I have asked three times now, you didn't see him kick the defender in the calf as if you had you would agree that it can't be a penalty.

He's paid for telling us what their PR men want to spread. Not report on the actual game with any impartialality.

Sterling - penalty
bluealf correctly concludes.

How times have changed. Lineker once got us a penalty against Cameroon, got us into the semi of the wc, he was a hero for that.

Sterling = hated

Who is hating Sterling for the penalty? (Which was a penalty)

I haven't seen any hate for that, only from Scottish, Welsh and Irish fans on twitter.

I was hoping Spain made the final and Walker, Stones, Foden, Sterling, Torres, Laporte, Rodri and even Garcia all played.

Eight (seven?) players from one club would have been brilliant.

Whichever stupid **** did this deserves the book thrown at them.
Definitely. It's a shame it wasn't dealt with earlier, as the ref stopped and spoke to the fourth official about something right at the start of extra time. It looks like this was what the Danish player had asked him to check.
