Jack Grealish

He should have played more, Southgate obviously has his favourites, Mount being one of them, how he stayed on the pitch last night way beyond belief... Saka instead of Grealish seemed odd too.

Guess it is hard for any consistency to be subbed on one game, practically win the game with his contribution then be zoned out the next game / two.

Think it’s a fair to say he has been over hyped though, the way the commentary team spoke about him the first couple games I thought Messi was about to pull on the England shirt!
Why?

He showed little or nothing, he had a disappointing tournament.

We never learn as a nation to stop building our decent players into some sort of world beaters, it's beyond a joke.

Grealish is a talented lad, who has had two good seasons in a very average team, he at this time is NOT the second coming.

He is NEVER a 100m pound player, even more so in this climate.

He is very much a first, second and daily coming for some posters on here...

Im not sure how you can say he did little or nothing to be fair. He was only given a cameo roll & when he did come on he influenced the game. I expect the transfer to be around 80m which is about right. Grealish is obviously very talented, the only question being is will he fit into our system.

He came on late against tiring defenses and I am still struggling to see how you can say he influenced in every game?
I do think he could play for us but there are more questions than answers. The ceiling however is incredibly high.

Even at 80m in this market he is expensive, as I said in a previous post, when given his cameos it made the decision not to start him easy for Southgate.

WHen he showed he wasn't another D.M was when Southgate decided not to play him. Don't think we are looking for a DM so that's okay

I didn't say he influenced every game.

Thought Mount had an average game at best last night. Agree with Keane in that Sterling or Grealish should have manned up and stepped in for Saka - just a kid - they have the experience and are goal scorers regardless of whether it is a penalty. Hope Grealish signs - we don’t have any posers - will increase our female supporter base as well
Showers of shit like Saka and Mount, you lost all credibility with that.

Saka was given a chance and took it, for a young kid, he played without fear and was a threat, Mount is a quality performer.

Grealish was average when given the chance, I don't think he is for us, never have but I am more than happy to be proved wrong.

I think the reason he didn't start is because he didn't fit into the system. Southgate likes pace out wide & he was not getting ahead of Sterling the way he started the tournament.

Sterling performances made him first choice , before the tournament many would not have agreed, many would think Grealish would be the main man, he wasn't.

What on earth are you talking about. Against Germany, changed the game and was pure class. Assist against the Czechs and alongside Foden got us playing against the Danes before boregate subbed him to defend like fuck against a knackered average Danish team.

The proof will be next season if we sign him. Him and Foden will he absolutely class together in a great team. See how those other England midfielders get on

If we sign him I hope he totally proves me wrong, but if we lose Bernardo and replace with Grealish I will worry.

Well, time will tell but I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t score more than Bernie in our team and assist more....Interesting to see what happens with Bernado as he does seem at a crossroads career wise.

Like i said Grealish didn't fit into Southgate's system, i doesn't make him an average player.

He is not a great player at this time, he has great ability, great personality on the pitch but at this time he is not a great player and like many good English players before is hugely overhyped.

What makes a great player in your eyes?

I’ve challenged you so you won’t reply. Grealish will score and assist more than Bernardo in his first ten games I reckon. Love Bernardo but he’s a grafter with little going forward. You’ve watched Bernardo the last two years yet prefer him to Grealish. Honestly choose a different sport.

A good player in his eyes is Mount. That creative midfielder who creates, well, nothing.
