So you all have loads to say but wont say it to a researcher who may be able to influence policy.

Are you lot shy or something?

This is a great post.

I've had my first vaccine, but I was hesitant to get it originally.

I'm young, fit and have no underlying health conditions. I very much doubt the virus would put me in hospital and I'm certain it wouldn't kill me - and that's if I even catch it. Now with the vaccines, there's a lot of uncertainty.

My BIL had his Astrazeneca vaccine in February - today they wouldn't be allowed to give him that because it's deemed unsafe.

I've read stories over the past weeks about heart inflammation in young men (I have a history of heart problems in my family - as I suspect many people do). I've read about how it affects womens periods, despite experts telling us it literally won't do anything to affect this a few days prior.

The 'experts' accept that roughly 1 in 1 million children will die from the vaccines.

I don't like all the 'unfounded worries' talk about vaccine hesitancy. It is worrying for young, health-conscious people. More worrying than the idea of catching COVID for some. Rather than berate these people and bully them into getting a vaccine, people should ensure they themselves are vaccinated, try and get in shape and stop eating crap. That's all you can do.

The 'Bill Gates is putting a microchip in your arm' brigade are fucking potty and shouldn't be given any air time whatsoever.
I’m not that young any more (late 30’s) but I’d had covid with no symptoms (had full test as Mrs had it).

I’m not anti-vacation at all and our baby (<1) has had everything, but there is no way I’m getting vaccinated for covid, I’d rather catch it again. If I hadn’t had a positive test I’d definitely be more inclined to have the vaccine. I don’t trust it as it was rushed through approval and think I’m unlikely to die if I catch it again.

My mates uncle who is over 65 met 9 of his mates in the pub, 5 on one table, 5 on another, all double jabbed, 8 of them tested positive after that (all were fine). It might have saved some of them, but I’ll put off getting jabbed until I move into higher risk category and if covid is still a thing.

And this is why NHS hospitals will be overrun in the next few months.

It's not just about you though is it. It's about saving the lives of others, and getting out of this shit storm ASAP.

I know of a whole Family who went to Wembley for the England semi-final fixture, have all come down with Covid.

I was wondering if we'll see a semi final effect on the figures about now. Mainly from people gathering together closer to home rather than the match attendees themselves.

My health is just about me, I feel I will put myself at increased risk by getting vaccinated, so I am not getting it.

It’s other peoples responsibly to get themselves vaccinated, if they feel they’re at risk.

I’m at more risk of catching covid from someone who has been vaccinated by the look of things, and that’s a risk I’m willing to accept.

I’ll continue to self isolate unless I really want to go somewhere (which has been 4 meals and 2 trips to Alton Towers with kids since this thing started). All you vaccinated people can go out and pass it onto other vaccinated people and blame it on people like me if you want, I’ll stay safe at home thanks.

Oh my, there are so many things wrong and inaccurate about this. You just hide yourself away for the rest of your life. Be my guest.

Out of curiosity what risk do you think your at with the vaccine over any other medication you may take?

as an FYI, These vaccines were not rushed. they had the same level of testing as any other vaccines, the phases happened quicker due to funding allowing trials to fill up quicker etc etc. and frankly are the most scrutinised medicines in human history.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good scare story.

Whether the risk is higher from getting it off a vaccinated person, or unvaccinated, you are still far better off getting vaccinated because the restrictions are coming to an end and over the next few months. However we do this, there's going to be one huge exit wave or a series of smaller ones and if you don't get vaccinated, you run a significant risk of getting infected.

Increasingly the vaccines are going to become less effective until news ones are launched but they will still help you fight the illness when you get ill.

Not one person escaped getting 'flu at some point when they grew up did they? So if you want to get ill, you go right ahead.

Yesterday I was invited to a variant vaccine trial by Astrazeneca but it was already fully subscribed. That to me marks the beginning of the end of Covid-19 because however much it mutates as it spreads through the population we will respond. Get your vaccine, and forget about it and get on with it because after that you might get ill but chances are you will be OK.

I do feel sorry for those that are vulnerable to infection such as the elderly because for these groups this is not over until we have very effective vaccines. For me, I am moving on now. We are in an exit-wave. Maybe we'll have to back out at some point because it will get too much but we we are going to go back to normal over the coming months so get vaccinated if you haven't already, or run the risk of getting ill. For a few moments it simply isn't worth hiding away or taking risks with your health.

Not a great advert for the AZ vaccine: all five of us in our family have got the virus despite me and my wife being double jabbed months ago. My and my son are really very ill too. The other three are just starting.
