Moeen isn't a leggie though - on the harder pitches, esp. in Oz, a decent leg-spinner would be more useful.

Yes, so play him on the only pitch in the series that's likely to suit a leg-spinner, Old Trafford. Had there been a test at Edgbaston or Southampton he may also have benefitted from a run out there but the other test grounds in this series tend to be either seamer-friendly or get lower and slower as the game progresses.

The ECB is a mystery to many of us! I've only got tickets for day one of the OT test so I doubt I'll see him bowl much "live".
