There was more to Messi staying put last summer. Apparently more tax evasion woes were wafted in front of his face. Stay one more year, the investigation goes away. Leave, & we'll pursue you for millions & a potential jail term. Messi stayed.

City are correct to be remaining a step away from this impending circus. Let it play itself out whilst we wait in the wings. I like many others suspect what we're witnessing here is a powerplay between Barca & La Liga. I reckon it'll come down to who blinks first.

It will be sad if we are not after messi. In fact it is sad if messi is not after us. particularly because he was almost sure to join us in past 2 occasions. Now if he can why not us.
As tolmee said messi signing is taken differently by city. It doesn't affect our business of the transfer window.

If City come out now at this early stage and say we are after him it would be ludicrous and create a media Circus never seen before
