Some of the comments slating him are uncalled for. Ake is a good back up and apart from a costly mistake he did ok today.
That is better than a good assessment BMR.
Thats first half he barely put a foot wrong and then right at the death Rodri helped him balls it up.
So unfair as to the unfair shit he gets on this Forum and yet for some soft arse full back is thought to be a better player by some !!!

Looked good for most of the game, but he has those shaky moments that ultimately define the gulf in class between him and the first choices.

Need him to still improve a bit of Laporte is on the way out.
True.

We definitely do not sell Laporte. He has 4 years to run.

Dias has actually proven to be world class CB. Aké has not proven to be anything other than average CB. Big difference there.
Yet both gave away penalties in the last 2 games. If a world class CB can make that error, can't we forgive an average CB doing the same? In fact, shouldn't it be more expected from the average cb and therefore more anger directed at the world class CB for making such an error if anything?

It was a mistake that wasn't even entirely his fault. It happens as Dias proved last game, he had a very solid game before that, yet that one incident makes him dogshit.

Should never be surprised by the nonsense which appears on BM .

He's today's scapegoat oakie, unfortunately.

Thought he had a decent enough game up until that mistake. Just hope it doesn't knock his confidence too much.
I agree, I also felt for him with the penalty because he looks like he’s going to get the ball and kelechi just gets enough between the ball and man, unfortunate really.

He did well up until the penalty. Unlucky. A long season ahead so they'll be plenty of better experiences.

He’s in luck because he’s almost guaranteed game time in the coming weeks. Last thing he needs is to be benched after that mistake. He needs to play for a run of games and preferably with a settled four. The start and the end of last season saw him in, out, and shaken all about, so if that happens again, I see little point in keeping him.

Played well, but made a crucial mistake.

Like him. Gives us a different type of player. But, needs to be quicker to sort out his feet.
