It is mad that whilst he's on stage crying and saying he's not closed anything with anyone, Paris have briefed that it's done to them. Was Leo's dad in the room or was he on Zoom with Nasser? Haha.

He's obviously going there, which is sad on a number of levels; especially when he obviously wanted to join us last summer.

I do wonder how PSG can legitimately afford to sign him, given the numbers that appear to be involved.

Signing a guy who has made such a show of not wanting to leave his club now would feel odd. One of the good things about signing Jack has been knowing how steadfast he has been for several months about wanting to join City and how obviously delighted he is to be here now.

Lets be honest, there must be an offer there from ourselves, surely.

If he decides to opt for PSG so be it.

The pressure on pochettino will be immense, CL failure and/or league failure will cost him

Not Arsed about Messi, great player obviously but he’s played us like a fiddle to many times. It’s clear to see he has never ever had any interest or intention to leave Barca so all the guff last year was just that. He uses his threats to get what he wants, I even think this presser with the Barca emblem background and at the camp nou is a charade, a pull the heart strings of la liga, once again trying to get his way.

To be honest if he's happy, I'm happy for him. And I respect how decisively PSG have moved and got this done. City/Pep know they could've done it, but they have clearly taken the pragmatic view that he wasn't planned for and they're not ripping their plans up to do it.

The goat.
I would have preferred to see him finish his career in Barcelona, this could have been something very special. There are not many players like Totti in these days

If he wants the Pep comfort blanket he can have it, play for a couple of grand a week everything is negotiable . let's see where he puts his priorities, huge money deal or the comfort of friends at a lower contract deal ?

Feels more Argentinian than ever is a weird thing to say though.
That’s what they talk about in Argentina, questioning his identity as opposed to Maradona. And this title has made him more “their own”. Something hard to explain unless you have followed closely for years

I cannot imagine if we really wanted him last summer even for a 100m + fee we are not interested at all now when he is free. I dont buy that.

but imo we would need to do some big selling to accomodate him financially and for that the time is very limited.
it could take selling two of Jesus, Mahrez, Sterling on top of Bernardo maybe or similar.
to accomodate him financially and also in the first eleven as he would push someone to the bench clearly.

Paris, as a gazzillionaire is way more attractive than us, I reckon he’d go there even if we offered more money and nyc as incentive. Honestly can’t believe we’re even close to being an option for him.
He’d be nuts to come here, way to competitive a league and frankly a waltz around the French league on 25m a year must be like winning the lottery when you’ve already won it once.

He’d tear this league apart

Totally agree. PSG swooped in quickly and decisively. There were reports during the month he was a free agent they made him offers, finally conceding defeat just before that announcement he halved his wages. So a lot of the legwork was probably done.

In an emotional state and acceptance of leaving barca so abruptly, must have been an easy option to have sitting there ready to accept. The longet it pauses, the more others might come into it, which is why it feels like PSG are so loud and eager. But credit for being so quick and doing what it took.

I'm totally comfortable with him going there. This is very different to last year. He's in a different place, so are we. If it doesn't happen, some things just aren't meant to be. We have fucking plenty tonbe excited about and look forward to.

Presumably he could have stayed and played for free.

he adressed that. He said they offered him to play for half his wages, he took it. They offered nothing beyond that, before deciding they couldnt register him so he never had to consider it.

got this done? bit presumptuous there.
