Tbf mate it looks pretty much the same as that last breitling monstrosity you presented. Someones gotta say it, gold and steel is a bit, let's say, council estate wannabe gangster.
I would never presume to educate you, you're a smart guy, you've retired I hear, although you never mention it between your rounds of golf ;-)
I had you down as a gentleman, a man of taste and, dare I say it, a certain elegance.
If you want to look like elton john in his skint period, go for it.
Otherwise, get that carerra or an omega, and stop fucking about showing us tatt. ;-)

Joking apart, why not let her choose?
If you like it, happy days.
If you dont like it, just keep it in the safe and tell her you only wear it for special occasions.
Win win
Was only joking earlier mate.
Hope you get a watch you're happy with.

The IWC is a bit of a grail of mine, it's stunning. One day maybe.
Hublot I can take or leave if i'm honest, a bit too new money for me, but I get it, great design, look great on a young chap, which i'm not.
Patek, even at entry level, I cant afford or even try to justify it. Pinnacle of watchmaking, but I will never own one. No sour grapes here, but the patek with the tv dial, cant remember its name, is a bit ugly.
The wright flyer i've only seen pics of, love that crown, cant seem to find an rrp on it.
Not that you asked for my opinion, but i'd be more than happy to have any of those on that list.
Like I said, you have good taste.
Jammy twat ;-)

Agree with you on most hublot but that one is a gorgeous watch. Used to have a patak philippe but fell out of love with it as it was too complicated ironically and could get a really good resale value.

Still a lot of research to go before I choose and time is on my side as it will be a self birthday present in October and I need to get the wife a new car first !!

You too have good take if the IWC is a watch that catches your eye a pure piece of engineering class in every watch they produce.

I love what hublot are doing re the cases, forging carbon etc, they are making some striking watches, and I enjoy learning about it all.
From silicone mainsprings, co axial movements, quartz, lume, clocks, hybrid movements, chronographs, lcd and led. Love all aspects of horology.

Lol! I appreciate your honestly. I don’t think I’ve ever been called a **** quite so eloquently before.

My wife pissed herself laughing at it, especially the Elton John bit. I even copied and pasted it to a good mate of mine. He’s worth about 5x what I am (though not necessarily as above board) and he’s from New Moston. He loved the Breitling and crublue basically described him in one. He also liked it.

About 2005 I bought a Corum Bubble Watch for $800 from the US, they were about £800 over here and the exchange rate was 2 to 1 in favour. There's the ladies equivalent of the model I bought on eBay for £1450 so I've effectively made a grand. It's probably not for the OP with his budget but Corum have a large price range, they are a little quirky generally but good fun Swiss watches to wear and as a small investment. As always, keep the box, get them serviced and look after them.

Unless you're set on traditional prestige dress watches, I'd very much consider a smart watch.
If the OP does want to go down this route (I know he doesn’t as he’s already bought a Carrera) I can recommend this beaut for any golfers in here:

I adore mine and it replaced whichever Apple Watch came out last year.

Ha. that's more than two years 6 day membership at my club.

Out of interest, why/how are sites like that and Chrono24 able to sell these Tags so cheaply compared to authorised dealers?
The main dealers are generally a cartel . You can go in and attempt to knock them down but they’ll try and make you feel cheap . The grey dealers are usually much better because they won’t have the overheads etc .
There’s also the Tag shop at Cheshire Oaks but that’s definitely hit and miss with what is in there .

That's brilliant.

Ultimately though, its your taste and its your choice, take advice as ever in life.....but go with your gut and get what you like.
