Hold up play is so important, Grealish is obviously going to take time to settle in and develop an understanding/play even better. But our central presence was so weak, it just meant the ball kept going out wide to the wing and back and forth between full backs with little output. We couldn't pass between the lines, everything was wide.

Torres may turn out to be ok in the long run, although I’m not seeing it at the moment. He is never a striker. He was a waste of a shirt today and not for the first time. The jury is out at present. As for a striker - I really can’t understand why we have not brought someone in. We must have a scouting team! Surely they haven’t decided it’s Kane or nobody !!

There’s no guarantee he scores, he’s a good goal scorer but he also misses chances.
That’s assuming he isn’t man marked out of the game.
I know that free’s up space for other players but then you’re back to the same players taking the chances instead.
Torres has moments but isn’t involved enough over 90 minutes, nowhere near enough.
He looked like a bargain, but unless he starts getting involved more then he could be off.
Not much of a gamble but hopefully it works out.

I doubt Kane is the solution though. Spurs defended their box well with numbers so Kane would be isolated again. If we had numerous opportunities in the box and missed all then that is fair. I personally think our problem is our build up, we allow teams to sit too deep which can be a problem to break them down.
