Problem is the lack of quality strikers available. I see people moaning we have no back up options, but who is there? Of all the names mentioned, do any of them really have that much of a better goal scoring record than Jesus? We've gone all in for the best current goalscorer in the league if we don't get him it will be gutting and the season will be a lot harder, but I'd rather that than blow millions on a Darwin Nunez or whoever and be in this position again in 12 months.

Two ways this can go obviously if true;

1) He has decided to stay at Spurs and is too embarrassed so is using the number situation as an excuse.

2) We look into the possibility of compensating any potential lost revenue.

You realise that the shirt sales thing is nonsense? People are buying the shorts anyway, it just happens to be be they put that number on it, theres so much data out there that shows players don't actually increase the volume of sales. And additionally clubs make no money out of shirt sales anyway, it goes to the manufacturer that's why they pay the sponsorship money
