Harry Kane

If mullock is to be believed then something fishy is going on;

We’ve either lost interesting, but then why haven’t we briefed about it? As we always do when we lose interest in signing a player,
Or we’re waiting for something. Which could be as simple as selling a player first or it could be trying to make levy sweat a bit and meet us at £140mil.

It’s all conjecture though, so who knows? I’m of the mind that city have to have a plan in all this! Plus there’s 10 days left, doesn’t seem like a lot of time but city could meet the valuation, or reasonably close in a heartbeat, so things could change quickly

Yep it all points to we have to sell a player to up the bid and open up a space in the squad too and that player will be Silva..

A good line of thinking! You’re right with the wedding story, reaction was a bit telling.

if it’s the case, you do have to wonder what if Tottenham have no luck with transfers for some reason? Although I bet levy isn’t too bothered about potentially raking in £150mil and then not having to reinvest it!
All makes sense when it’s lain out like that

They have no luck in transfers because they are targeting players above their level and ambition, with no champions league to offer them. And probably lowballing them too.

As I've said a few times I'm of the belief that this crosses the finish line very late, once Tottenham have sorted themselves out.

In that timeframe it's in Tottenham's interests that it comes across like there's a very realistic chance Kane stays, so that potential selling clubs/agents don't rip them off. On the same front, it's in City's interests to back that up so as to not undermine Tottenham's efforts and compromise everything.

If Tottenham sign players for good value then they'll charge City less, but if City leak something out and Tottenham overpay then City might be forced to overpay themselves. I suspect that if push comes to shove City WILL overpay if they have to and are trying very hard to avoid this scenario.

I believe the reaction from both clubs to the wedding story was very telling.

Once we start reading from Tottenham that Kane isn't for sale, and confirm that he's staying, then we can start to feel a bit nervous. But so far it's all been about City not being willing to pay the fee, which is likely all PR.

Interesting observation, and a good take on it. In said appearance that Kane isn't moving, it also helps with a side stance of we don't need to sell, and can ask for fair value for our players off clubs looking to come in for them low. Which Pep mentioned a couple times now.

The only thing that maybe slightly throws it is Kane's camp's sources moans about Levy's holding it back with broken promises. But on the other hand, maybe could be why he hasn't kicked up more of a fuss, or handed in a transfer request yet.

Certainly don't think we've lost interest. Either waiting for them to buy (and as above), perhaps us to sell or be close to an agreement to, which i think would be more for perception only. Or, the club know how Levy is, and there is almost no point with offers that aren't late. Sometimes feels like if he has time to reject them and negotiate further, he will. In which case, save the offers and effort for a point when they can work to a deadline.

Being optimistic - assuming other deals are to be done ( for spurs getting players in + for city moving bernie on ) before closing the kane deal

Just my opinion

Why does everyone think haaland even wants to come to us?

Not that this is at all me arguing that I think Haaland wants to come to us, but more just simply my general stance on any player.

Who Wouldn't want to come play for us?

Ok. You're selling your A3 'Dusan Tadic' edition.Book price, 25k. Daniel Levy rings you up, comes to have a look, has a quick testdrive. You know your neighbour is well into buying his expensive Range Rover. You're now at the part where he starts kicking the tyres making all sorts of 'hmmm' noises.

How does the status of that deal for his Range Rover affect things for you?

Scenario 1. The deal went through - neighbour let everyone know it was 40k. If he offers you 20k, you'll laugh at him, and keep going until he gets to 23,5 / 24k. Or more.

Scenario 2. The deal has not gone through. All sorts of rumours about them reaching sticking point over 5 grand. This time, you don't know how much money he really can spend. He says he doesn't know if the deal will go through. He'd need a much better offer from them. Otherwise he's not interested in selling - at all. He's also looking at the BMW Lautaro down the road. But then.... after a lot of murmuring, he says he can make a genuine offer of 20k.

You with me? In THAT situation, if you want to sell, then getting him to 22k might seem like a real win.

I reckon that is exactly where we are.
Seems abit cheap for Harry kane 22k, however if you do get him for that can you get a lb as well please

Looking more dead by the day this deal now. Be really disappointing if we don't get a striker in as we've had long enough to sort one as we knew Kun was going last April.

Not sure we need him after yesterday’s performance. Will he work when 90% of the teams we play just sit back and hope not to concede?

That's a biased and arrogant view.

As a team, a vast majority of players would love to play in this team, but some of those may not want to live in the UK, Manchester etc, not everyone thinks English culture/lifestyle is a dream.

I would say the club knew 18 months ago Kun was done in terms of injuries.

Maybe we put too much faith in Charlie Kane and this ridiculous "gentleman's agreement" nonsense.

Personally, I am happy if he comes but not at all bothered if he doesn't. I think we have enough with Torres, Jesus, Sterling, and Delap. Not just enough, given faith I feel they would absolutely thrive. Add Grealish, Foden, and Mahrez into the attacking mix and we have class all around. Kane would score a hatful in our team but one focal point is not necessarily where it's at, in my view.

I was told three years ago, by someone who would know, that Sergio's career was very, very limited because of long-term knee damage. A legend and the provider of the single best moment of nearly every fan's lifetime.
