To be revealed next week. Be interesting to see what positions image they pick and here they are placed. Can’t wait to see them.

I was wondering the same but Real Sociedad are definitely playing Saturday afternoon so I can’t see Merlin making it

shame as I’d like both to return to be part of the unveiling and for David the fan send off

No team will ever achieve 100 points again in the history of football. It's not too soon. I think it's a shame some of these other legends like Bobby Moore weren't still around when their statues were built. Actually while we are at it we should erect some football legend statues in Manchester City Centre starting with Colin Bell. Manchester has an incredible sporting legacy which is famous across the globe but you wouldn't know it in our city-centre.

Something City do not do well at all (and it comes from the club and through Pep’s language n’all) is celebrating our history.

It’s no wonder other fans think we have none, because the club don’t act like we have.

Agree with this.
I am just not into statutes full stop - much prefer the mosaics around the area that also look more real than a lot of these statutes.... Ronaldo for a start!
 
Silva's surely has to be his kissing his wrist celebration, like he did when he single handedly twatted united in the 6-1. Or his finger pointing in the air one.

Kompany's should just be him bollock naked, can of Belgium's finest in his hand, PL medal round his neck. Just because.

You're right of course, so many great memories.

Things have moved so quickly it seems strange to feel nostalgic for an era still fresh in the mind, but these fellas were making history so fast! Our history! And now they're gone. I remember my brother commenting in the concourse after another victory how great it was to win more games than we lost, delivered with no cynicism at all, just a genuine, almost childlike pleasure.

Winning the FA Cup in 2011 stands out of course, but particularly vivid for me was a Tevez masterclass thumping we gave Chelsea.

I was in Munich for 93.20, my wife working miracles with her laptop for updates as the clock ticked away. City made the TV news headlines in Germany that night and not as a sports story!

So many great times.

I lived in Norwich for a bit and was working with a company director who was a rag but had a box at Carrow Road, he was alright as a bloke but full of it as a rag, One Saturday he invited me to watch City play the mighty Canaries. We demolished them, it was men and boys, the look on his face was priceless, he'd seen the future and it wasn't red.

I could go on, Vinny's Leicester goal, Yaya single-handedly dragging us across the line in 2014, that six months of Negrado, particularly his goal against Liverpool and Sergio wiping the smile off Pep's face against Bayern.

These players are icons of a glorious era, It takes their leaving to really bring it home.
