Harry Kane

The absolute worst thing for Spurs right now is for City to turn around and buy someone else.

They'd be stuck with a depreciating asset who desperately wants to leave.
The fans have already turned on him.
No money to reinvest.
A shite team capable of Europa League qualification at best.
No teams interested in Kane.
And mountains of debt.
I fucking hope we do. The thought of that window slamming shut and us not signing a forward is absolutely unimaginable. I'm with Tolmie when he says he doesn't believe that it's kane or nobody, I just think that's city keeping their cards close to their chest.

And I honestly don't think spurs give a shit about the money when they'd be losing 40 goals a season and loads of assists. They can't replace him as it stands so I think they'd be elated if the window shut tomorrow and they kept kane

Which is why the omnipotent uber-negotiator Daniel Levy does NOT hold all the cards: far from it.

I think that's why he's quoting stupid money tbh. He's hoping nobody will pay it because to replace Kane would cost him a shit load in today's market. He may even have to buy 2 strikers to replace the goals and assists

is it me or do they sound exactly like Villa fans... self-important, conceited, superior tone. As if their player actually wants to stay. Villa fans were proven wrong, we'll wait and see with these.
The Fighting Cock is the most appropriately named forum. Same goes for Wet Fart Lane. Dreadful club.

What does Levy care about 30-40 goals a season. If it doesn't get them CL football then he's worth fuck all to him.

He's quoting "stupid money" because that's how you negotiate: you start high and come down. He doesn't need to sell before the window shuts so let's see how he feels, given the facts above, when we reach the last couple of days of the transfer window.

I really, really hope we don't take it that close to the window.

What? Many here think deal has been secretly agreed. Not saying they are right or wrong but that's their opinion
I think we will find out by Thursday either way. I had been assuming that City would walk away this week in frustration but if Spurs start signing players then it suggests the Kane deal may be happening. It is possible that the leaked stories may be a smokescreen agreed by City and Spurs to give Spurs the chance to make deals before other clubs knew they had a bank full of cash from selling Kane. I just don't believe that City have ever offered £75m plus add-ons. That just sounds like a fabrication to me but it suits City and Spurs to leave it out there. I am only speculating about Thursday but I don't believe either club or Kane will want to push the saga into next week.

It doesn't matter if we do, as long as we get him. Running down the clock is another standard negotiation tool, one that's being used by both parties here. Neither need to do the deal before then so I strongly suspect that's what will happen.
Can only see it getting done by us paying what they want or very very close to it

Would have been nice to watch him against Arsenal before his inevitable ankle injury he picks up on international duty....
