Ronaldo would have told City through his agent that he wanted one last go at the Champions League and City would have welcomed him if that was that. As soon as he's indicated he wants to listen to offers from the rags I think City have smelled a rat (!!!) and pulled out. Either he was using City to flush out interest from them, or he was trying to drive up his wage and his agent's fees.

Quite right to pull out in my opinion, but I still think this could get ressurrected if he dismisses the rags.
