Maybe we can apply for an emergency loan situation to cover our goalkeeping crisis. What's John Burridge up to these days?
The rule exists for exactly that reason, to stop players from skipping games "injured" and turning out for their club a day or so laterNeed to learn from the Rags and have all our players pull out through “slight injuries” In future.
seriously though what a disgrace, we pay the wages, tell them to fuck off and play them, makes a farce of the PL with teams having to play weakened teams ( bar the rags of course who cannot play Fred) , our case a poor 3rd choice keeper, all because of refusing to send them to a country on the Governments red list.
The FA/PL should be all over this
I love it when sensible factual posts like this totally take the steam out of the piss boilers. Not to red list countries, they won't. The government couldn't provide exemption from the players having to quarantine in a hotel near Heathrow for 10 days.
So it is definitely not a ridiculous excuse and it wasn't just City who decided this. It was all Prem teams and the league itself
Not as confident as you about that, he looked a bit rusty in that 4-3 win at Newcastle last season.Carson in goal isnt going to lose us a game.
There's nothing wrong with the rule usually, but it's just a classic case of a complete lack of flexibility when it comes to rules (unlike their accounting) at a time when they clearly don't make sense. It's not as if teams are refusing to release players to be dicks. The rule exists for exactly that reason, to stop players from skipping games "injured" and turning out for their club a day or so later
How fucking bent that they can pick and chose. The worst part is Richarlison is being allowed to play because Everton and the Brazilian FA get along.
to be fair that rule exists in a large number of countries (if you are from that country the rules are different on entrance). Doesn't mean this is anything other than a complete p155 take from Brazil though. Question is will Premier League have the balls to tell them to get stuffed. For reasons Brazilian citizens apparently arnt required to quarantine on entry to the country, so they could have actually played, unlike the Argentines who came from the same place, which in itself is completely ridiculous and probably another reason why Brazil has been doing so poorly with covid if cant act objectively with rules.
I feel fifa has maybe bitten off too much here trying to enforce this ruling and some powerful interests could be happy to try curb their power over club football if they get the opportunity to go to some court.
He hadn't played for years before that game though. Now he is almost a regular. Two games in a calendar year.... At this rate he will no longer be the highest paid professional in the Premier League per minute of game timeNot as confident as you about that, he looked a bit rusty in that 4-3 win at Newcastle last season.
Apparently because he played the Olympics for them. The worst part is Richarlison is being allowed to play because Everton and the Brazilian FA get along.
Like Giggs did for years. The rule exists for exactly that reason, to stop players from skipping games "injured" and turning out for their club a day or so later
Monica! We need you.Seeing as we get accused of lawyering up quite frequently I presume we will release the hounds again.
Absolutely.
Hmmm FIFA being ridiculous….It’s like proposing a World Cup every 2 years instead of 4 years they would have to out of their minds…Or a Winter WC in a boiling hot country which nobody will go to mid season.
Wait a minute….. ;-)
It’s the Brazilian Govt who have done this and it’s their law that has forced FIFA to tell clubs that Brazilian players play for in England that their players can’t play.So FIFA can prevent Edison and Jesus from playing at the weekend if they feel like it.
Tell them to do one, we pay their bloody wages.
OMG WTF YCNMIU IMHOFirst UEFA, then VAR and now FIFA......
Why do acronyms hate us so much?
