The rule exists for exactly that reason, to stop players from skipping games "injured" and turning out for their club a day or so later

There's nothing wrong with the rule usually, but it's just a classic case of a complete lack of flexibility when it comes to rules (unlike their accounting) at a time when they clearly don't make sense. It's not as if teams are refusing to release players to be dicks.
 
What a joke. Ridiculous decision. The quarantine rules were such that they would have had to quarantine in Brazil before even playing and then back here so they spend almost 20 days holed up.

to be fair that rule exists in a large number of countries (if you are from that country the rules are different on entrance). Doesn't mean this is anything other than a complete p155 take from Brazil though. Question is will Premier League have the balls to tell them to get stuffed.
I suspect not as it affects us more than anyone else (due to Steffan) and even the scouser who have 3 out would be compensated by Leeds - their opponents - also missing players

He hadn't played for years before that game though. Now he is almost a regular. Two games in a calendar year.... At this rate he will no longer be the highest paid professional in the Premier League per minute of game time

So as it stands we have no first or second choice keeper available vs Leicester.

You couldn’t make it up particularly as the Brazil vs Argentina game was abandoned DUE TO COVID Which is why we didn’t send them in the first place.

It’s the Brazilian Govt who have done this and it’s their law that has forced FIFA to tell clubs that Brazilian players play for in England that their players can’t play.

FIFA have been the middle man in this.
