seriously though what a disgrace, we pay the wages, tell them to fuck off and play them, makes a farce of the PL with teams having to play weakened teams ( bar the rags of course who cannot play Fred) , our case a poor 3rd choice keeper, all because of refusing to send them to a country on the Governments red list.

Not to red list countries, they won't. The government couldn't provide exemption from the players having to quarantine in a hotel near Heathrow for 10 days.

So it is definitely not a ridiculous excuse and it wasn't just City who decided this. It was all Prem teams and the league itself

There's nothing wrong with the rule usually, but it's just a classic case of a complete lack of flexibility when it comes to rules (unlike their accounting) at a time when they clearly don't make sense. It's not as if teams are refusing to release players to be dicks.

What a joke. Ridiculous decision. The quarantine rules were such that they would have had to quarantine in Brazil before even playing and then back here so they spend almost 20 days holed up.
