miss them for that game aswell apparently.
Ta. Curses.
The Guardian page on it says the ban runs out on 14th though - and only cites the Tuesday games as being additional misses.

Thought it was only Tuesday games players missedmiss them for that game aswell apparently.
Legally? No, they really can't. At least not without agreement with all the signatories or if there's a clause that allows them to do so. I think here they just assumed no-one would be so petty to trigger the rule.Of course FIFA are to blame, they're supposed to be in overall charge of world football. They could come out and say "Due to exceptional circumstances we're suspending the rule, not the players".

Oh I'm not sure on that then.Ta. Curses.

Was told any games within a 5 day period from when they would of returned from international duty
That's right, it's a 5-day exclusion starting the day after the last day of the international duty period, which normally would be a Wednesday but was extended to Thursday to allow teams to catch up on covid-cancelled games. So Fri-Tue inclusive for this period.Oh I'm not sure on that then.

All a bit of a mess.
I'm amused that Football365 has pointed out that the PL clubs can still select the players, and leave it to the PL whether to punish anyone for doing what the PL advised/instructed.
It is the window ended yesterday so it’s 5 days from today.Thought it was only Tuesday games players missed
but Brazil are playing on Friday , fifa haven’t even define time zones in their ruleThat's right, it's a 5-day exclusion starting the day after the last day of the international duty period, which normally would be a Wednesday but was extended to Thursday to allow teams to catch up on covid-cancelled games. And if Wenger gets his way with a major tournament every single summer, we'll see if any players request not to be selected for their countries.Even in a "normal" world without quarantine, there is not a hope in hell any of the European based South American players would have been able to play games on Saturday anyway.
Argentina kick off at 00:30 and Brazil kick off at 01:30 tomorrow morning. The players wouldn't be physically back in the country until at least Friday night and their sleep patterns will be on an entirely different continent.
How FIFA can think this is right, I will never know. The football season is going to descend into a farce over the next couple of years.
So far yes, talks are continuing...have i missed something, have they definitely been suspended for 5 days ?
wow, i actually thought they were threatening to do it ,i see a few more other countries have done the sameSo far yes, talks are continuing...
Have you a link? I've only seen that Brazil have asked FIFA to invoke the ban, but haven't seen a report saying FIFA have actually done so. Some headlines are reporting FIFA invoked the ban but then the story says different, crap journalism. So far yes, talks are continuing...
A link to what? Multiple outlets saying the rule has been invoked? It's the same media that you're reading.Have you a link?
