That's an awful take on a 25yr old,who has only ever played for his boyhood club,and who continues to improve.

Would he be good enough for our midfield? I would have said not 12 months back,but he has added extra quality and savviness to his game......so it would be interesting what Pep could further add to his armoury.

Personally though,id currently rather we show some love and patience to Lavia and if that doesnt work out as anticipated and hoped.....then look at players like Philips.

I really do not see why people think Rice is any good. I have only watched him for England rather than his club but he seems slow and worse hides when he should be offering passing options. It is noticeable that Stones and Walker seem to find progressing the ball harder for England rather than City.

Rice would be a significant downgrade on Rodri imo.
