The Conservative Party

Shapps again saying firms need long-term planning to replace foreign workers. Given the current UK birthrate, he must be talking about 20 years of shortages.

Never mind dig/drive for Britain. Or even pluck for Britain. It's f...
We've had over 5 years since the referendum and we've been told repeatedly leavers "knew what they were voting for". So how come five years wasn't long enough to plan of leaving the EU? Where was the governments long term planning?

Maybe should help some of the jobless retrain that would help or even cut benefits so people would work , maybe a grace period of day 3 months to find work

At 40,000 tests outstanding it would take 2 years to complete them all .... at a 57% pass rate thats edging towards 4 years ... and thats not filling the 100,000 current vacancies or replacing those that will be retiring in said 4 years.

Tories cant do simple maths tho as has been evidenced many many times.

why the surprise and outrage? He is a Tory supporter and Party Donor who missed out on any lucrative contracts because he was too busy making sure the BBC is a Tory Govt propaganda dept and so has to be rewarded accordingly.

Surrey on brink of declaring a major incident tonight. Key workers would be prioritised for fuel on the forecourt and electric vehicles brought in to help social, care and emergency workers move around the county.’ @Sky

And that’s why people should abstain from payment.

George Useless being spectacularly useless on BBC QT
Decided to watch Sky News and rather than bring Patel into question, they are laying it at the Commissioner. The Commissioner is far and away useless but Patel is just as if you are trying to understand this case. None of them could’ve known.

Thrown under the bus, and so soon after such a decision.

Managed to battle through though, or maybe MSM scaremongering? Or is it because of the protesters?

No. It was Surrey County Council.

‘Conservative leader, Tim Oliver, told PA the option will be considered by the local resilience forum on Monday evening (September 27).

He said: “We have been experiencing the same problems as everyone else so we are deciding whether or not to declare a major incident which would give the forum powers to prioritise key workers.’

Did you want the media not to report the statement from the leader of Surrey Council? Help me out on this one.

Considering is not on the brink as a former (independent) councillor we had to consider many non starters purely because they were on the agenda to not say prior to meeting they were being considered would go against council rules.
