Who replaces Ole though?

Who is out there at the mo, who is that step up they need?

I've never understood the Zidane hype as a manager, so he may get the respect from being an outstanding player, but tactically, could he get this lot firing? I don't think so.

They took a punt on Ole, if I was them I'd go for Graham Potter; far more tactically astute, but the owners bow to the demands of the fans and the 'old boys' club, which is hampering them big time.

Potter will go onto bigger and better things than Brighton. Like him a lot.
They would never do anything so sensible. They will go for someone with social media and marketing clout

Inserting a 15% sell-on clause for Jaded was one of the best pieces of business Manchester City Football Club has ever done, I reckon.

I don’t think you can judge Sancho just yet. That midfield behind him is unable to control a game so they lack structure and balance. If they had a decent midfield I think he would be a different player.

Long may they continue to paper over cracks. Outplayed for the majority of the game by the 11th best side in Spain.

Keeps Ole in the job for a bit longer, hopefully he gets at least the season, they'll win nothing of value under him.

Could see them finishing 3rd in their group, dropping into the Europa league and winning that, which is about their level.

This is one of their turning point games. Contracts dished out. Chinas economy will shoot up due to the snide tops being ordered. They'll be booking days off to take the kids to school sporting their latest Ebay purchase.

Then, as we all know:

POP!
It’s happened so many times and they never learn their lesson. Ronaldo’s goals are carrying them.

United fan here. First post.

It does feel
1. We are where Liverpool were before signing of VVD and Allison. Very open games, conceding chances, no game plan, just rushing things.

2. Ole has decided to go this route yet tellingly it seems the squad isn't ideal for this. It's very confusing for him to do this. First Ronaldo doesn't press, Cavani does but playing them both is not feasible from the start. Midfield is not talented in any way. Bissaka is awful going forward. So the aspect of Liverpool-esque play is broken

3. This season will go to waste again. As we have regressed as a team in attack play and in defensive structure. And crucially midfield is not good enough. For Kloop at least his attack and midfield were doing okay that season he just needed to sort out 5 defensive players.

4. It's soo chaotic every game up until you wonder is it a manager instruction or players forcing issues.

5. For any genuine control of games a Midfielder needs to be pulled out of the bag with Bruno effect in January transfer window. Without that it's just hang in there and enjoy the ride kinda of a season.
