General Videogame Thread

Depends what part of the game you are into, if you are into ultimate team and online matches in general you are tied into getting the latest releases at launch.

I'm not into FUT as it is a waste of money and although I have played seasons on 2021, it is only as enjoyable as the opponents you meet. Who are almost always utter cocks who sit behind the ball and counter attack.

Career mode is decent fun though and I have taken Barrow from League 2 to multiple quadruples and just swapped Felix for Mbappe after he picked up his 3rd serious injury in his first season.

What system are you on?

It’s got a free trial of 10hrs gameplay if you have access to EA play, (available on PlayStation or Xbox, EA Play is also included as part of xbox game pass ultimate). You'll also have access to last years game in EA play (plus other games) if you decide to save your cash.

Costs £20 for the year for standalone EA play if you don't have gamepass.
Got it last night for PC. First time since '18 and it feels a lot slower. I'm by no means good at it (used to play 11 and 12 a lot on seasons) it looks great in 4k tho!

Obviously I spanked the Rags 6-0 first game.. couldn't even let them have the obligatory 1 obviously.

It’s a lot slower this year absolutely. Feels more about possession and creating angles for passing.

Just to add if you bought the next gen consoles and still have the xbox one, the trial is valid on both Gens. My lad got 20 hr over the 2

Tried the Battlefield Beta last night and it just feels dull. The maps are almost too big and even with 128 man lobbies, there's just nothing really going on. Feels like they've tried to be more Call of Duty than Battlefield as well.

Think I'll wait till it comes on GamePass rather than spend £70 on it.

I feel this thread should be split into console and PC sub genres.

but anyway. Moved my PC into my work unit (own a drone/video production business) and haven't games in months and months. A wee break done me good but I'm very excited by the look of Viking City Builder. Feel that some good city building/strategy games are long overdue. Any recommendations would be welcome. Also any underrated games I should try?

Early access games Going Medieval and Foundation are pretty good. Foundation is a pure city builder but unlike the others is gridless so it results in very organic creations. Going Medieval is a colony management game with many mechanisms taken from RimWorld but in three dimensions. Still a bit raw but very promising.

Just ordered myself a Tobii Eye Tracker 5 as I’ve really gotten into DCS (all the WW2 planes). Anyone ever used one? Reviews seem pretty good.

Kin’ hell. I’m all for this.

Definitely happier with this than GTAV EE. Although I will lower my expectations until I see what sort of remaster it’s going to be.

Got potential to be a great game, but I just feel like they’ve made the maps to big. This is a mid sized map for 2042, so imagine how big the biggest one is going to be!

Been playing for a couple of days now, they’ve got the obvious bugs and issues which are easily fixed. But I just think the gunplay is so much different to BFV which was pretty much spot on. I went on Warzone for a few games last night after playing the beta and the gun play in Warzone was so much more enjoyable. I’m disgusted to say that as I’m a BF till I die guy. Maybe it will take some time to get used to, BF is generally a lot a harder to control guns so I’ll stick with it. Just feels clunky at the minute.

Given the lack of GTA 6 there will be high expectations on rockstar to deliver something good. Their work is generally good. So here’s hoping they deliver. Still no word of a date.
