1 poster posted City weren’t one of the clubs involved. Apparently that was reported. No links to any articles, though.

I honestly can’t see City being one of those clubs. After what the PL, the 3 Red Shirt clubs, and Spurs have done to City over last 10 years. I‘m inclined to believe City(and Abu Dhabi) are happy for the Saudis to come on-board as we now have a powerful ally, who‘s takeover of Newcastle was delayed and almost stopped by Liverpool, United, Arsenal, and Spurs.

If it‘s true City are siding with the Red Shirts and Spurs once again, especially after admitting they made a mistake in joining the Super League, I will be well and truly pissed off, like many other City fans will be.
Agreed with what you say. Can I also add that the media are a lying bunch and in order to get reactions of other fans have printed this news of 19 clubs up in arms. Where’s the proof that City have said this where’s the club statement admonishing the PL and Newcastle?. To me it’s the usual media narrative.

I think we are with the others in asking for a meeting. Our discomfort is about the PL not consulting rather than any objection to the takeover per se.

Why?

Was it our week?

I know a few Geordies and they were all ok with our takeover, they were happy we broke the “sky sports 4” cartel.
Same here. I know a couple and they had no issue with our takeover, they actually said they wished it was them. The majority of honest football fans would agree. Arsenal, Dippers, Spuds, Rags, Everton would all welcome either our owners or the new boys at Newcastle.

Caf takes on City regarding Newcastle cont:

‘City clamouring for FFP now’ err…

‘All over Twitter crapping themselves’ err… maybe ‘congratulating’

they also seem to have this idea that a cartel doesn’t exist, Sky4, Hateful8, Parry, Gill etc etc beg to differ.

Why would the PL consult with other clubs about the confidential business dealings of another club. Why would Newcastle allow that to happen given the negative smear campaign against them all the way through this takeover process including negative personal attacks on Amanda Staveley.
The poisonous gang at LFC, MUFC, Spurs, and Arsenal have been trying to stop this takeover for years. They have used every trick in the book...just like they did against City.
This is the same process we suffered under during the FFP investigation. All our confidential business information and our evidence was leaked by a person at UEFA to LFC and also MUFC. They then briefed their poisonous pals in the media and it was used to undermine and damage our club. That's why we withdrew our co-operation with UEFA. As Khaldoon said: "It was organised and clear."
It would have been a disgrace if the PL had given advance notice to other PL clubs so some of them could ambush the deal. Why should Newcastle share their commercial information with their business rivals and enemies?

I agree, but we're talking years here, regardless of their vast wealth, FFP means that there's only so much they can throw at this project and they're starting much lower down the pecking order than us.

They need a plan and they need to get some adults in the room who know what they're doing.

The likes of Spurs, Arsenal, Everton, Leicester and West Ham should be looking over their shoulder, in the medium term Newcastle poses a threat to them. In the long term they're a threat to Liverpool and the rags, in the even longer term they're a competitor with us.

They'll never be a threat to City.

I agree completely. I was merely putting forward what I believe is the other clubs position which is wrong imo.

I suppose the other thing is, in Newcastle, there is just one club, in Manchester.... well no need for me to type further! It might be easyier to attract a megastar or two if they are to be the stand-out star in the town rather than rubbing shoulders with DeBryner/Mahrez/Sterling etc.
Actually, there is only one PL club whose home ground is in Manchester!
Just like Grimsby Town, who play in Cleethorpes, our near neighbours play in the borough of Trafford (hence the name of the ground - a slight clue) and call themselves "Manchester". They are in the greater Manchester area, in the same way that Chelsea and West Ham are in Greater London, although only one of them can be described as "Cockneys". (Even though ALL clubs south of the M25 are known as Cockneys by us Northerners ;-))
Hope this helps.

It's not arrogance, City were a threat to Utd, Liverpool and the rest because of our business model, plowing money back in to the club to grow. Now Newcastle will have that same business model and will threaten the same cabal, but that business model doesn't threaten us, it will in time give us a competitor.

Just maybe they will fight the farce of FFP, the Saudi's have a different mindset to our owners.

People like these don't get involved with a business without been fully aware of the consequences.

I personally hope they smash FFP out of the ball park, I despise any legislation that stops investment, it's a disgrace.

And having views that oppose that is very scouse like .

Agree re the bollocks of FFP.

Can't see the Saudis steaming in and kicking off over FFP they won't be that daft.

Not sure why you've brought the scousers into the discussion.

This is Everton struggle.
A fine illustration of the reality. No good having money if you dont use it properly. When others post, "with that money City should win everything" they just show ignorance.
Ppl forget, originally it was the Sky 5, with Everton included in those that got the extra cash. It, um, "disappeared."

I agree with you. Other clubs should have no say in individual cases, but in the rules. But PL started down the consultation route then left the clubs high and dry. Fear of secrets coming out in court methinks.

Yeah, what has Roman Abramovich ever done for us?

I’m afraid we are:
I agree with the sentiment of the rest of your reply.

if its in the M.E.N then its not true ? they even in that quote have its manchester united and man city cheeky fuckers

manchester city can not start throwing stones in the glass green house because it will make us look daft
i don't under stand why its news ? the premier league have rubber stamped it and all the clubs must have been involved in the process

i wish newcastle all the best and like Manchester city its a dream and like winning the lotto
but like many that have won the lotto its handling the pressure and money wisely ? because players are greedy fuckers and will say all the right things in getting that contract then down tools and become lazy

manchester city had to learn the hard way and we signed so many players for all the wrong reasons and its took one hell of a job by mancini to worm them out and build a team that could win silverware

Shame on our club if we're siding with the likes of Utd and Liverpool over Newcastle
It's understandable unfortunately as another player at the table makes players harder to buy, pushes up the price, another club that could attract sponsors that may have come to us, COULD be detrimental to our league position etc.

As fans we look at things a little differently to the money men.

I dont remember us signing players for the wrong reasons, except maybe Robinho. True, they were some failures in the squad building phase but many successes such as Kompany, Zabba etc.
