Erling Haaland

If we pass up the chance to sign a willing Haaland over penny pinching principles over wages, and he goes to a rival, it'll be the biggest mistake we make as a club post takeover. We'll regret it for decades.

It can't happen.

Not signing haaland is not going to be the end of the world, it will be a setback sure but not the end of City as we know it.

Decades is pretty long time and plenty of time of player like Haaland ability rising to the surface in the future if our scout is lucky to find them.

Football future is not set in stone, they always constantly changing and we are not oracle able to predict 100% guarantee what's happening into the future if we sign haaland or not.

Him out injured could lead to Dortmund slipping up badly in all competitions which could potentially give Haaland a significant reason to push for a January exit.
He seems quite settled in Dortmund regardless, dont think he'll push for anything

Both Dortmund and Sporting play two games at home of the three remaining in their UCL group stage campaign, but their clash is in Portugal. Could get messy

If he signed for a domestic rival he could be a thorn in our side for a decade, whereas if he'd signed for us he'd further separate us from the chasing pack and cement the side for the foreseeable future.

I strongly believe we'd go on to regret it. This'd be Van Persie+Hazard x1000.

United and Chelsea with van Persie and Hazard: 3 PL titles combined.
City: 4 PL titles in the same time without either.

It could also be biggest mistake we make as a club post takeover by making a 21yr old the highest paid in the club, in doing so pissing off the rest of the squad and setting a precedent in the future that we will outbid our rivals which is something we rarely do.

So many people said this about Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard, Mesut Özil, Robin van Persie, Harry Maguire, Harry Kane etc...

Get over it. If we don't sign him we don't sign him. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Haaland isn't and will never be the only world class striker around.

If he was so good that he guaranteed league titles, wouldn't he have a Bundesliga medal by now?

So much chat seems to be on whether we should or shouldn't, would or wouldn't pay imaginary guessed sums, before or after tax, claimed to get headlines and clicks. For a player that may not be 'asking' for them, or may or may not want to come here for a lot less or even for said imaginary amounts.
