Ref Watch

why on earth didn't var look at that tackle on Palmer?? that's a textbook red all day long..
I thought that too. And the offside calls in our match last night were instantaneous, yet in other matches they take an age to decide.

My personal favourites from last night were stopping Ederson from quickly playing on with a throwout counter attack by blowing for an unecessary offside and Foden being nailed off the ball in their box as a cross came in, booking Laporte for a none touch challenge whilst allowing their players to lunge in unpunished several times one of which on Cole Palmer should have been a second yellow. The offender was then quickly withdrawn. (James Milner style)
This is a recurring aspect of how we are reffed. There is no correlation between our cards and theirs, our free kicks and theirs. It's as though two sets of LotG are in operation.

Yeah, I keep asking when a forward is blatantly offside why we have to continue with play when there is no other option but a free kick for the defence. Are they gonna use VAR to see if they can allow a goal from an offside player 'cos we fouled someone ten minutes before?

Foden being nailed in the box was being reviewed by var. We then scored through cancelo.
I noticed when the camera went onto our fans the bottom of the big screen was saying var review possible pen.
Now not saying it would have been given if we hadn't of scored because no one showed a replay

Pure cheating officiating yet again today. Tierney needs removing from any involvement in our games, how he did not call out the offside is cheating, nothing else

No complaints about the ref.

Their penalty shouldn’t have been given though, offside in the build-up. VAR got that wrong.

It’s an irrelevant stat. All three of our yellow cards were clear cut.

Neither team fouled that much, so none were for totting up.

Thought Friend was very good tonight.

If you thought friend was good then you might be blind, which would also explain why you didn't see Lallana got his yellow card for totted up fouls, the referee waved 3 fingers at him as he gave it.
