Brighton (A) - Post-Match Thread

Took pity on Brighton in the second half and so did VAR , the penalty/goal was offside in the same phase of play but that little shite who reffed the Dipper game Tierney was on VAR and didnt give it, About time these faceless f*ckers on Var were made to explain their decisions.
Annoying we didnt get the clean sheet our superb defending deserved, centre backs were both superb today and Walker & Cancelo solid defensively , overall excellent performance against a team with plenty of energy who hadnt played for over a week , and loved Pep's reply to Sky about our striker situation , nipped it in the bud.
Our current run of form has been breathtaking just hope we havent peaked to early , difficult to keep this level for the next six months , but if anyone can do it Senor Guardiola is the man.

I just don’t know how that today can be considered a 2nd phase when we haven’t touched the ball and the whole thing was a single attack. If it ends up back in their half, there may be a case for it, but the ball went wide, then back all about 20 yards from our goal. A couple of passes later and it’s in our box for a pen. Offsides are the easiest thing to give with VAR now part of the game, yet somehow they have managed to fuck up a black and white decision. The exact same thing will happen in another game and offside will be given. Crazy.
I get what you are saying and I’d bet a large amount on it being offside had it ended in a goal rather than a penalty.

I guess they looked at our back four and looked to see if they moved back into a better shape in the brief time they weren’t classed as attacking our goal.

I really enjoyed that. One world class team vs a very good team. Thought, in their way they were the best team we have played this season. They lack a cutting edge but thats about it.
We played really well front to back but took the foot off the gas a little too much second half. I thought Bernie and Phil were immense. Very very good performance and three points. Thought Pep was as 'energised' as I have seen him in his post match interview.

We could do a lot worse than looking at Potter to replace Pep when he eventually leaves. He’s an excellent manager.

Yeah but does Potter believe he can manage a top side also will players believe in him when we got through a bad spell? This is the problem giving managers like potter a top job!

So how is a pass backwards without any city player touching the ball a second phase?
In your scenario, the person offside has passed the ball through to the player fouled for the penalty.

In the game, there were 3 or 4 passes in between, which was deemed as a second phase of attack.

Walker & Cancelo booked for their first foul and Veltman their right back was hacking at Grealish all the game and just got warnings everytime as for the Ederson booking the ref was playing to the whinging mard arse southern shandy drinking , Pimms sipping home crowd , bunch of southern wankers booing Grealish everytime he recieved the ball , the same twats will be cheering his every move in an England shirt.
Love the fact their support are delusional enough to think they could get anywher near a top four spot , well today has firmly given them a reality check , know your place Brighton who a decade ago were attracting 6,000 a game , 17th place is a good season for you bunch of dreamers.

I think Potter is a very good manager but managing City is a very different proposition. I think a more prestigious club than Brighton will eventually give him a try but I doubt it will be City.

Can see him taking the England gig.at some point. Newcastle could do worse.

Yeah if Newcastle stay up they should go all out for him

He'd need to go to a mid ranked team first. Someone like Everton, utd or the Hammers.
