Crystal Palace (H) - Post-Match Thread

When i seen the team today i thought all things considered that was and prob is our strongest 11. Smiled and thought a nailed on win. Rags away at spuds, the school teacher has lost the players and spurs at home will be way to strong another banker.
£300 double, was like printing money.
Drowning my sorrows with port and brandy.
Are you sure you can afford the port and brandy now?

Nothing original I can add , or I’m not going to read 53 pages to find out. Disappointing day but not the end of the world. The rags inevitable win today makes next week an even bigger game

Annoying in the south stand today four or five Dortmund fans around me, one with a City shirt on. Finding it amusing as their keeper wasted time and then after their second goal when our fire drill started I almost twatted the one next to me as he ranted, "What is this??? You never see this in Germany, plastic fans!" I told the prick we stuck with our club in our third division, at 2-0 with minutes to go the game is over, people have lives to live outside football " I wish these fuckers would stay away, or have their own section for tourist or more will end up getting twatted

Thought Vieira set them up well. They defended well as a team and gave us little space to create. Our passing was woeful. Kev just isn't at the races. We seem to pass and pass and be devoid of ideas of how to break through the bus. Laporte had a shocker. Once we gifted them the early goal it was always going to be difficult as they put everyone behind the ball. Time after time we see teams do this at the Ethiad and seem incapable of breaking them down. Kev is a passenger, his form has fallen off a cliff. The inverted wingers are too predictable. We need to wind the clock back to pace and dynamic possession that results in serious threats on goal. Bringing Sterling and Mahrez on with 15 to go was ineffective and sadly everybody in the stands who watched the game knew it would be.

Got played today by Zaha, let him walk all over us and do his usual pantomime villain act undeterred. Saw a lot of strong words with him at half time, damage is done by then when the **** has scored and got a player sent off. Should have provoked a red or taken him out of the game in the first ten minutes. His usual kicking and diving self. Laporte woke up with lead in his boots today, but I'm sure he will recover.

I must admit, I felt a large proportion of our fans were nothing short of a disgrace today. The lads gave it a real good go second half, better team and really positive football with 10 men, I was proud of them and they deserved more continual support and applause when walking off the pitch. Very sanitised atmosphere has crept in all around the ground, people act like it's a game of tiddlywinks if you dare join in with the singing or utter a swear word. I know we've been on the end of a few refereeing howlers, but the crowd is a large reason why our home form is shoddy compared to other top drawer teams. The Etihad is too welcoming to visit, large pockets of the crowd are like statues. Should be up at every kick, appealing for every throw, corner etc. Happy clapper club incoming once the old boys start dying off, but suppose that's a sign of the times at all top clubs.

Agree 100%. Meant that we do not need to sell before we buy.

your right the money for Kane is still floating about somewhere
whatever it takes we must sign haaland in the jan window. forget the buyout clause next summer that only brings everybody into the market for him. city don't need a bidding war if they offer that right deal in the jan window and don't try and mug dortmund off with a cheep offer

sterling could be a good option for them dortmund and if sterling is happy to move then even say look we will give you sterling and £100million for haaland

His lack of mobility is frightening, he’s regressed over the last few weeks when we expected him to be playing himself into fitness. I watched a couple of times when he tried to close a player down and it was painful to see.
I've seen a couple of posts in this thread referencing that he needs to lose weight - which is worrying. My seat isn't close enough to determine if he's carrying surplus timber or not but I can tell he can't get away from a tackler or find space when he needs to and always seems to be "stretching" to receive the ball.

Like but not like, if you know what I mean.

Spurs are shite. Did you see them against The Hammers last week? Or vs Arsenal.

the thing is world class players should know better and let their feet do the talking and shut him up
but the officials and the ref was all in for palace today and let them do there dirty stuff and timewasting

he could not get that red card fast enough ? there is no way that was a goal scoring opportunity and cancelo would have got back and like pep said you seen today jonny evans get a yellow for the same foul ? even last week dirty harry edge of the box last man got nothing

but again we know what goes on with the officials and we should know better by now
just not good enough today its simple and the whole team and manager have to take it on the chin and move on

Spurs are fucking dreadful, I'd honestly not have put money on them to beat most Championship sides

I don't know if KDB is overweight, but he definitely does not have the body most of the rest of the top 10ish players in the world have. Salah, Ronaldo, Lewandowski etc have all put themselves into incredible shape to prolong their careers or simply be the best they can possibly be.

He looks more like a footballer from 15 years ago.

Not to worry Marriner may be a cheating **** but next Saturday it will be different, i mean we are overdue not only our first penalty of the season but our first penalty at Old Trafford in the Premier League, yeah never had one, Keith Curle got our last one there in the very last Division One season, 1992. Of course we have had plenty of them at home, errr oh yeah we had one in 2007 that we missed. So like I say, it’s our turn……..
