Im guessing city want to build a dynasty, they certainly don't believe in short term managers and it takes quite a lot for them to sack someone, see Gareth Taylor in the women's team right now. Post Pep, I think they'll want stability and if Rodgers does succeed, he could likely be a 10-15 year appointment and I think that's what they want. Some of the bigger names simply wouldn't be that, so I think the club are probably thinking if they do graduate someone from best of the rest to the best, they'll keep them for ages. Not sure if it will work tbh and this strategy could lead to fallow seasons.

Agree....certainly not enthusiastic if Brendan Rodgers takes charge of City after Pep. He's a good coach & may have been a good appointment for us pre-Pep or Mancini era but we're now streaks ahead as a club both on & off the field commercially.

Understandably anyone after Pep will feel like a downgrade, but if we are reportedly interested in Rodgers does feel like a similar route taken by those lot in the swamp after SAF's tenure with Moyes taking over. i.e. a young, domestic based manager who inevitably gets out of his depth & doesn't handle pressure well due to lack of experience etc.

Like many others here, would prefer we pursue a type of manager who already has some european experience with a strong squad & more importantly has a similar philosophy to Pep's football, rather than tearing down the playbook which would inevitably mean an overall of the squad which will cost money & time.

If we were to nab any staff from Leicester it should be from their scouting department. They've acquired some gems ranging from Kante, Mahrez, Vardy to more recently Tielemans, Soyuncu & Daka.
