We're too well run to splash £100m on a slightly younger player who's not an upgrade on what we already have (more than once).

Becoming the player we had hoped for , steady composed decision making has it all.

Having an incredible season and arguably our most important player. If you look at the drop offs from key players to cover, the largest drop is Rodri to Fernandinho, purely due to his age and declined physical attributes. We can get away with the odd game, but if Rodri got injured we’d have a huge problem. Gundo would have to play there some games too. Wrap Rodri up in cotton wool!

Rodri can be better than prime Fernandinho. Fernandinho is a proper legend of the club, incredible person and player. He deserves all the love he gets. But he couldn't take and move the ball like Rodri did today or at Chelsea. Rodry's a deep-lying playmaker and a destroyer in one. Top quality.

Pep should use him more carefully this season. Last season he was arguably over played and lost form in the final 5-6 weeks.
