The Conservative Party

Condemn it all you like just don’t pretend this is a Tory only problem and that a simple change of government will magically improve things.

In a thread about the governing party it is very much a Tory problem. The idea no one has the moral high ground to criticise Tory corruption is to be complicit in that corruption.

This gets curiouser and curiouser - Cox releases a statement saying he broke no rules but has been filmed on a zoom conf doing work on the BVA case in his commons office which breaks the rules. He also says he cleared the trip with the chief whip before he left the UK - so Johnson must have known. Back bench anger against Johnson is palpable - Cox doesn't care if he drops him in it

An SNP MP (I think Westminster, not Scottish) has stated that the Cox issue was deliberately leaked by no. 10 to divert attention away from Johnson.

So we can only discuss matters pertinent to a given thread title? Well I never, and there was me thinking you pollute pretty much every thread going in this sub forum with shit about Brexit - heck I might even find some posts about it from you in this thread if I could be arsed to check.

As to my post, I was merely correcting @Rascal whom is toiling under some misapprehensions about corruption being an exclusively Tory thing. It isn’t.

Yes. Hence mod requests to ‘get back on topic’ would never exist.

Corruption is very much a feature of this Tory Govt, along with incompetence and lying. I look forward to your comments on these three main strands of Tory policy. As for that moral high ground you are seeking, well, right now, a shallow ditch would suffice.

But Sir Keir has been doing his second job as well so the argument is invalid.

New Tory line defending the ham actor and egotist Cox.

Isn’t the issue around influencing governmental decisions?

Not sure Starmer has done that.
Indeed.

It's a whopper a Tory just came out with to try and deflect.

Patel will have to make one of gammon feeding lines to distract from the story.

It's fun watching the tsunami that Boris has caused trying to help out a mate.

How short is thy memory - the 2009 cash for influence scandal ring any bells?

There are around 15 former union leaders also sitting in the lords having donated millions to the Labour Party. Along with business men/women who have also donated millions to the Labour Party. All appointed in last 20 years.

In summary I don’t think anyone can claim the moral high ground. Certainly not the tories or labour
Nice try. Name them. But in any case you mean their unions may have donated millions to the Labour party, not their individual donations (so not cash for honours). Nice try, though.

whilst these horrible bastards bury their snouts in the trough and laugh at gullible us they preside over a 3rd world country - starving councils, healthcare, people on benefits of funds and yes housing - its not only posh flats with deadly cladding people are getting scurvy and living in fucking hovels.

Blunkett and Peter beg to differ
