Aston Villa Thread - 2021/22

Strange move for him imo, I'd have thought he'd have hung on at Rangers looking good until Klipperty fucked off and then he could have no slip-ups as he strode into Clanfield for his glorious return.

I’d prefer Villa & Newcastle to stay up, but there are zero guarantees in this game! And, I hope Burnley join Norwich and Watford, and never come back! All 3 feel like small time clubs that don’t belong in the top flight!
I really cannot agree with your last sentiment and think that it is great when smaller clubs make it to the top flight. Would I miss Burnley if they got relegated? - no, but having teams from small towns getting to the Premier League is romantic and allows fans of almost any league club to dream of such success.

As much of a scouse **** he is I’ve always rated Gerrard.

Clearly vastly experienced and in interviews comes across as intelligent and very knowledgeable on the game.

He’ll do well at Villa imo.

I can see it being an absolute disaster for some reason. Mainly that he’s managed in a farmers league.
I’m not so sure. Maybe I just want him to fail.

No if he makes a decent fist of it at Villa he'll be nailed on for the never guilty mob. I doubt being a success in Scotland would have qualified him. As I hate both Villa and Stevie G I hope they get fucking relegated and he's never heard of again

You're probably hoping that one of the dipper heroes is exposed as a failure and watching to see if their cunts of supporters turn on him

Not that I personally have anything against him but it would be quite funny to witness .

Maybe not but his legend status would have given him the job, going to Villa a long time underperforming team, will likely still underperform and he is left in no man's land and looking a bit ordinary as a manager.

A big risk IMO

Riskier than appointing OGS at the swamp ?
