How are you?
Had you been jabbed?

Think it’s quite random in how & who it affects. Some of us (many I should say) have been unlucky.
I probably had a huge viral load too. Took my coughing, spluttering daughter down to get tested in a car back in Jan…inevitable I got a good blast of it.
Hi mate, Im ok, yes double jabbed, just seems like an ever increasing hangover at the minute, no couughing and spluttering though, which Im praying will mean I can get back to running when my 10 days of isolation is up

Colleague at work has just been taken into the MRI (she’s 27 and had at least one jab).
Her boyfriend had covid a week or so ago but she tested negative last week.
They’re testing her again & she’s in IV’s and they’re testing for all sorts (she’s coughed up blood) & keeping her in overnight.

If not covid there’s some nasties doing the rounds atm.

Dave doesn't even need an "An I'm exempt" sticker, he just needs to say it if challenged. Under the disability act it's a crime to ask why or refuse him entry or boot him off transport.
Aye and no doubt dave has a tidy little paid for house with his disability car parked outside, whilst the mugs of the country go out to work day in day out and are not entitled to shite all when these things happen.

Today's stats say different. The UK is on the brink of another surge.

You can't judge a country's response over the course of a few days (or even weeks). You have to compare over a much broader period and to date, the UK has handled the pandemic as poorly as any European country (based on deaths per capita).

The clear sign is that its unvaccinated people driving these surges. Hopefully, more people see sense and get vaccinated ahead of the inevitable Christmas spike.
Of course you can't, so why were you saying we should impose mask mandates and other restrictions to be more like those countries?

I doubt the UK in on the brink of a surge. It tends to go up for a while then down for a while.

And of course, I hope all unvaccinated see sense.

You've missed my point slightly. Its that anybody can say they're exempt with no proof required. I've witnessed it on the tram, multiple young people just say it and the official just walks off

Good. My mate was the same as you’ve described (double jabbed) but rough for a week but then back running around ten days.
If you haven’t been utterly floored with it (as in you can’t leave your bed) you may be fine soon mate.

let us know. I hated not running…put a stone in in weight too :(

Crikey mate, are you trying to freak me out?? The mrs and kids have all tested negative and Im quarantined in a bedroom so hopefully they will be ok

Ha. No….bizarrely it’s probably not covid she has.

Hedgehogs have the right idea in winter…

Anyone else had this?

Had 2nd jab about 12 weeks ago, and just in the last day or so I've noticed my arm is a little tender/sore at the top where both jabs went. There is also a small, spot like lump.

Now it could well just be a spot! That just happens to be where I had the jabs, and it certainly isn't causing me any concern or any real discomfort (barely notice it unless I raise my arm)

I appreciate this isn't the place for any formal guidance and I will go down the correct channels if it persists or gets worse but I'm curious to know if anyone else had this or if it's a common reaction even 12 weeks after the fact?

(The best way to describe it is it feels like I've had a jab maybe 2 days ago and its the tail end of the soreness/irritation wearing off)

Per capita, its about the same as we are now.
True, but like I said we don’t know whether they’ve hit a peak yet. They’ve reported over 64,000 new cases today which is another record number for them. I don’t take any great delight in highlighting the figures but the speed of the rise has completely taken me by surprise and baffled me somewhat because they have much stricter measures in place than we have here. I’m due over there 2 weeks on Monday for 6 days with the other half for our annual two-city tour of the Xmas markets (we pick a different venue in Germany each time we go) with a sneaky little trip to Leipzig for our CL game thrown in, so it’s in our interests that things start to improve quickly.

It’s almost like those measures are completely arbitrary and make little or no difference. Look at the uk countries (and the ROI) with vax passports and compare them to England. If the following wasn’t marked up you wouldn’t believe which lines where which.
ROI implemented in August, with Scotland and Wales in October and people think we should be doing it here!

Oh - apologies- I probably wasn’t clear. This is definitely a new bug - my daughter had the same a week or so before me - took about 2 weeks for her to get over the worse.

Just think it’s been exacerbated by my long wrestle with covid/long covid.

I am resting mate - little I can do atm. It’s floored me.
Thanks.

Sorry, mate. Not been keeping an eye on the thread. I thought you were continuing to suffer with covid from way back. These high dose steroids I am taking at the mo make the thought process involved in making a cuppa a tricky process.

Has there been any research (I'm sure there has so probably the wrong question) into similar effects with long Covid?

Although I'm not back running in some capacity (8 months on and nowhere near the pace I had pre covid) I never really shook the cough off.
I've just succumbed to a really bad chest infection.
I've had it over a week but it's worsened over the past few days.
Managed to see a doc who thought it was probably viral (I'd hope I could get prescribed meds to try and eradicate it) but I'm non stop coughing to the point of throwing up/almost blacking out.
Ribs feel bruised and I'm totally wiped.

Not sure if it's because my immune system has been compromised or I still had remnant of covid cells sat in my lungs.
We have all been conpromised by lock downs and social distancing by not catching the bugs we normally do. These bugs generally give us some protection to another bug that turns up later.
