Im disappointed that Everton are not occupying the top tier. I sit in SS3 and was looking forward to away fans being up there again. I’m not sure but I can only remember Arsenal fans in there this year.
Everton have sold out. I’m with you having the away fans sell out SS3 makes the game much better. All tickets on sale are ones the club have overpriced and only cut now as they’ve realised most people don’t/ won’t pay over 50£ a game never mind if your looking to take your family

Had a quick look loads of £50+ seats even in the South Stand? What are you doing City, out pricing fans this isn't London ffs the club really need to get in the real world. Surely winds up Peps no end when he knows those tickets would be snapped up if they were all £20-30 not £50+!!! Shocking.

I have deferred my season card this year. Last Sunday I went online to book a seat for West Ham. Just one seat left in the block I wanted. I processed the application but when I tried to pay it rejected my debit card on five occasions, tried my wife's card same thing. At the sixth attempt authorisation was accepted but no confirmation from City. Next day both accounts had been debited but no ticket. Contacted City eventually but they said no record of the booking and asked for debit details again. Five days later not a dickie bird from the club and the seat has gone. The ticket cost £52.00 but after OAP and Citizen card discount the price was £37.00 . The cynic in me says the club preferred to sell that seat to someone else for £52. I won't squirm now when I see empty seats. Serves them right.

Hope Pep and players are aware of this. Been going since 1955. Wasn't a fan of his but even Halford was better than this lot.

£35 should be the top ceiling for a football match unless you're in some fancy corporate/hospitality area. When inflation and the fuel increases really bite expect lots more empty seats.

Good point. Why should away fans pay £30 whilst home fans pay £50 to watch the same match. The priority should be the home fans.

It‘d be nice but it hasn’t been that price for at least 10 years maybe longer. I’ve been paying between £30 -£55 for at least that long, depending on the game. This seasons prices aren’t much different to prices for at least a couple of years pre covid.
Not expecting any reduction in the coming years either. Most empty seats will still be sold s/c seats not going, whether that changes over the coming months / years I guess we will see.

I just think £35 is a fair price to pay for 90 minutes of football, an entertainment industry where you're not guaranteed entertainment as our last two home games prove. Before anyone jumps on me I'm perfectly aware the last few years we've seen plenty. Gate receipts aren't the main bread and butter anymore due to the huge amount of money from sponsorship and tv revenue. Even at £35 that's £1,750,000 for a 50,000 gate. During the pandemic clubs, football association's and pundits all agreed football without fan's was nothing, it's time they started looking after them and sorting the main stumbling block which is prices

My season ticket works out at £34.45 per game. I'm happy with that but i won't pay over £40, except for cup finals where i know I'm going to get fleeced. If it reaches that amount i walk away and watch it online and tv. As I'll soon get the oap reduction hopefully it won't come to that. Plenty will pay more and that's their prerogative but I won't and that's mine.

City like every other Premier League club are run as a business so the ticket prices are set to maximise revenue.
I accept this, although city need to look at the value of reducing ticket prices in order to attract families. When you look around at a dad with his two lads at a game it’s probably cost over £200 which most people don’t have or they have more pressing priorities.
having 2k empty seats is pointless.when if you knock 10/15 quid off gives the possibility of recouping that through the bar and food sales( if your lucky to be served).
Not to mention the negative pr we are constantly slandered with “emptihad” city have the power and must know the price ceiling on the tickets for the most optimal. The club are becoming more and more out of touch, majority of people like myself are lucky to have season tickets so the price per game is much more affordable. Ultimately it’s never going to be the price we want, which is due to the amazing team on offer. We are spoilt but a price somewhat in the middle for the lesser games would be ideal.

Edit: Get behind the team and support them is all that matters. 3-1 City come Sunday

Obviously season tickets are cheaper, but we are talking match day tickets, which are the price they have been for a while so don’t know why it’s a surprise to anyone. Obviously we’d like cheaper tickets, Ijust don’t expect them. Anyway this is a pre match thread not really the place for a pricing discussion.

There are 2,000 left on sale now but come KO it will be a few hundred and the sums will add up. Man Utd fans will be talking about attendances for years to come but City's fanbase is a lot more loyal than theirs. Their 'failure' pales into insignificance compared to 35 years yo-yoing between the lower leagues so it's easy to deal with their emptihad claims. A bad score at half-time and their fans were seen leaving OT in their thousands.

They also talk about stopping going after a few bad results. In our darkest years we all probably said, "That's it for me I won't be back next week!" only to return lol. It would be very interesting to see what would happen if they were relegated and went just ten years without challenging for a trophy but unfortunately that probably won't happen.

Sheer curiosity, why £40.00? It’s about £100 more a year than what you’re paying now, is that the tipping point to give it all up? Why wasn’t it £30 max, 15 years ago?

That isn’t supposed to be antagonising, I’m genuinely interested. My ticket is currently about £44 per game, it’s too much but I still pay it

The team deserve our support on Sunday. Proper noisy, vocal support, not the silent treatment so many of our fans bring to the ground.
Always been the same, always will be the same. If it’s tight and we’re pushing them, we’ll be loud, if it’s easy we’ll be quiet, if we’re getting beat and struggling we’ll moan and groan.

The big difference is that we are currently watching our best ever team under our greatest manager and yet lazy fans sit there like statues.

We have never won so many leagues, or won as many matches or scored as many goals. An awful lot of them were clearly there when we were shit but don’t do anything to bring a performance out of the team.
