When you have the middle-aged prancing pony behind the scenes calling the shots (under the guidance of that revolting Govan can of piss, naturally), you are as good as being dead in the water. Essentially they have handed over control of the club to a former player who only went back to his old stamping ground for the two simple reasons - a stupendous leviathan of a pay-packet and a final chance to take his ego to the new and unchartered heights that even Beckscum had never conquered.

What the rags have become can be explained in a few short phrases: They have become a club being run by an 80 year old man with a long and troubled history of alcohol abuse, aiding and abetting a vain, egotistical narcissist from Portugal desperately hoping the two of them can turn back time and recreate the early 90's.


If only comedy writer John Sullivan hadn't died, he could have come up with a new comedic series aimed at the rags:

Made lots of friends - he was supposed to be making a football team not friends.

The fact he did that interview when he left shows how low an opinion he has of himself. We should all share it.
 
Absolute shambles appointing an interim before appointing an interim. What are they waiting for? Season could be over before they get anything sorted. What is the point of the second interim?

We heard Ole has done a great job, got everyone smiling again, brought back the dna and steadied the ship. Now the dressing room needs steadying again? United need a manager not a mascot
 
Lots of slapped arses in work today. Most don’t care apparently it’s not their club anymore. Others genuinely believe keeping Carrick and McKenna is a good shout and some are on the Bruce train because he will sort out the defence. None of them want to discuss it though even in a non-pisstaking way. It’s giving me a warm feeling inside

Carrick has no experience other than as part of the problematic Ollie team.

Bruce could handle the rest of the season nicely imo. I'd imagine that he could play the role of the old fool which could actually give him the excuse to make drastic necessary changes...like not starting Maguire or Ronaldo or Fernandes.

IMO if they had a backbone they'd say screw the media and fans and be aggressive in their appointment but nope (thankfully) they'll just continue to be scared of their shadow.

The big problem for Bruce taking the job is how does he lose to the rags when he's managing them?
