Right now the boosters are our best hope as they give you two different vaccines and they think that can make the difference as they work differently and the more ways your body is primed to face Omicron the better given the data on this so far.

Anyone thinking two jabs is plenty are not getting that crucial change to the regime. Vaccines are not all the same.

We didn't have hospital oxygen on tap during Spanish Flu to anything like the current level. Without hospital oxygen, the death ratio from Covid would have been much, much higher
That's fine but you can't disaggregate the impact of diseases from technological advancements.

Here we go with all the anti-vax mob kicking off. If everyone had been vaccinated, and everyone wore masks in certain indoor settings, we wouldn’t have needed these restrictions.
So irritating and will lead to certain industries missing their much needed busy period of the year!

we use the same criteria the WHO set out for registering in a covid death. That’s what that is.

That’s what it is doesn’t really cut the mustard when it comes to showing what caused a death does it?

Imagine if all post mortom had an attitude of being equally vague? Would it be acceptable?

Have people had their lives tragically cut short by the virus? Absolutely and we should know the numbers.

Have people died with other co morbidities that more than likely had a greater influence in their deaths than a positive test for covid did? I’ve no doubt and for the majority, their age would have also been a huge factor as none of us will live forever.

I’ve no issue with numbers but we need context and accuracy as the current numbers of deaths from covid in the UK I honestly don’t believe.

The only people who had a different booster were the ones who had AZ for their original vaccine to my knowledge.
I've had 3 phizers like a lot of people.
All I heard about the mixed jabs , was that it was safe, not that they as you put it , think it can make the difference.

Booster shots have been bumped up a few weeks over here. I can get one as of next week.
Is there any difference (benefits) between Moderna and Pfizer?
These are the two that have been offered. Ta.

It's good to see that it's nearly all unvaccinated that are experiencing the worst consequences of their decision, but there are thousands of vaccinated people that are suffering because of the selfishness of those that have decided a vaccine is not for them. A mate of mine has just had a cancer operation cancelled for a second time. Whether that's directly as a result of pressures on the NHS due to the unnecessarily high number of Covid patients I don't know, but it certainly doesn't help that thousands of beds are occupied by the unvaccinated leading to people with other life threatening conditions having treatment delayed to a point where it may reduce their own life expectancy. Why don't these selfish cunts just go ahead and get vaccinated. It boils my piss that they are risking other peoples lives, and they either don't give a shit or are too stupid to realise.
My mate had his cancer op on Monday and died today. Anti-vaxxers unnecessarily clogging up hospitals can just fuck off.

The numbers in Greater Manchester are pretty big today. Looks like Omicron is here and doing what it does. A 50% rise on last week and a 20% rise on yesterday. Manchester up by nearly 150 cases week to week. Trafford and Tameside doubling week to week.

Zoe saw all this coming from around Friday and has identified the boroughs in trouble well. Seems hard not to assume Omicron is a factor in this very rapid increase over the past few days.

But high as North West is the southern regions are still all higher.

We have to watch how these 5000 or so cases a day in the NW fare. And how they translate into hospital admissions. NW is still the lowest of the large regions with just 811 in hospital (it actually fell by 7 today). It is though up week to week (just by 9) for first time in weeks. And had one of the lowest number of deaths per region in hospital today - just 11 out of the 113 in England. And has the lowest numbers on ventilators of the large regions. 98.

If Omicron is here and causing the big case rises watching how the hospital numbers go over the coming weeks will show how dangerous Omicron is.

Bollocks how do you work that out? Im fully vaxxed and wear a mask before you call me anti-vaxx. The vaccine doesn’t stop you catching it or passing it on. Everyone I know that has got it recently is double vaxxed.
