Not really, they've just announced that the Race Controller decides what is in the best interest of the race. It's always been that way, it's just been made blatently obvious after today.
Which opens the sport up to corruption on a huge scale.
It won’t go to CAS. Money will change hands, promises will be made to avoid it happening again and they’ll just go again next year. Too much to lose for Mercedes in terms of image. They’ll do the sporting thing and take it on the chin.
The fans’ opinions don’t really matter.
There isn't enough money in the sport to make Mercedes accept investing £400m this season only to get robbed by Michael Masi.

Yeah they did, as they always do.If that had been another race it would have finished under a safety car as not enough time for other cars to get back in position. The process was hurried up so there could be a "spectacle" for the last lap.
The FIA pulled some WWE shit to put on an exhibition rather than a sport in order to attract interest world wide.
Listen i'm not defending the FIA, just as I wouldn't defend UEFA and their bullshit, but it's frutiless going on about it now. The FIA has their own rule book and know every loophole, one that has just been exposed.
You follow the rules as written, but in the end the Race Controller will always have the final say on race day. They didn't want this season to finish under yellows. Remember that if Lewis had managed to hold off Max on that last lap, Red Bull would have put in the same appeal and would have been told the same thing. 'RC rulz, ok'.

The FIA have just killed F1 as a credible sport. Most of us knew/suspected it wasn't a level playing field but this seals it.

You can’t. It’s ridiculous but it was a predictable outcome as they try to circle the wagons.
Merc will either bend over or they will take it further which I hope they do.

We are already seeing it in football being used against City with VAR.
Completely open to abuse and someone in an office using their own interpretations to get the desired result, regardless of footage and rules.

Do teams have an open line to the race director? Masi is clearly easily influenced. Should have to request an explanation ect not just be able to berate/influence him at the press of a button
There are just open be about it we wanted a new winner and got oneWhen I think about all the shit decisions we've had over the last few years from corrupt officials that don't like us, this shitshow puts it all in the shade!

Thats probably because the current version of FE is a bit of a distraction from the transition of F1 to EV.Mercedes is quitting Formula E to concentrate on Formula 1! They already announced that earlier this year.
I would imagine this decision might make them question who theye are dealing with in F1.
They's been painted as the big bad bully boys against the plucky underdog all year. They won't be happy with any of this.
And capping it off by being well and trully fucked over on the last lap of a season and then the FIA actually trying to brazen it out is amazing tbh.

Yep! In any enterprise, whether sporting or not, you can only affect the elements which you control. Everything else is just the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Outrageous though today's manipulation by the FIA was, Merc have to accept it, subject to appeal obvs, because there is nothing they can do about it.Nope.
