The way the govt and population are behaving over Covid - 19 and the somewhat cavalier approach to Covid safety I can see this ending up with more matches called off and playing to empty stadiums. Being made to field understrength teams will also adversely affect league and cup outcomes. Hopefully not but it may take the death of a player for the seriousness to hit home. And before anybody says " oh but its not killing young people or its only people with underlying health problems " well it is but the deaths are mercifully rare and as per underlying health issues I draw your attention to what Kun is about to announce and why and what happened to Mark Vivien Foe - there are quite a few players suffering health issues at the moment it only takes an unlucky combination of being taken ill and getting a bad dose of Covid 19 for the unthinkable to happen

I have been speaking to the father pf the Brighton goalkeeping coach this morning. He says Brighton & Potter are furious at the Utd postponement. They asked the pl about the possibility of calling their game off but were told they had to get on with it.

This is the problem with the rags and dippers man at the top of the prem they can get favours others cant

If nothing else and the rag/Brighton game does go ahead (shouldn't if they cant play tonight) it should fire up the southern softies to kick shit out of the fake southern softies.

If true, this flies in the face of the argument that calling off their game is "the right and safest thing to do" as ALL players and clubs have the right to be treated with the same due dilligence and care.

Not just certain clubs, which is what some of us on here suspect is the case.

Why dont we know the numbers and who it is, KDB was positive and duly isolated for the correct period, surely those that have tested positive have to be made public for health and safety reasons.
 
Drilled into old memory bank and found the Everton manager who said they would never buy a black player. It was Gordon Lee (77 to 81?).
Cannot find a ref on line.

Is it that important for us to know? I don't know any of the Spurs or Villa or Brighton or rag players that are positive.

Couldn't care less. Wouldn't even have a clue if any of ours have.

As others have said, it’s not the fact that it has been called off, it’s the levels of hypocrisy in the reporting of the rags' case, compared to ours last year.

I'm not arsed on the why and why not for others. This postponement will be bad news for them down the line.

I hope City are all over the protocols and doing everything they can to keep everyone safe. Not being in the league cup this year should give us a much better Jan and Feb than recent years. We dont want to have a load of games called off and then replays when the CL is back on.

Absolutely. Pep lost his own mother to Covid in the early days of the pandemic and yet Neville, Ferdinand, Lineker and various pro united and liverpool cheerleaders in the media, along with Everton’s official statement, were effectively accusing us of cheating and gaming the system.
And by implication/extension they were accusing Pep of using a global pandemic that killed his own mother shortly beforehand as a means to gain an on-field advantage.
That is despicable conduct and needs calling out in anybody’s book

Why have other teams declared figures and not them? Why have they not said that they have declared because of covid as opposed to them having to close their training ground? It's all to enable them to play on Saturday. Corruption at the highest level.

How does that benefit them? They’ll have a fixture pile up later on as a result of today.
