4,387 people were being primarily treated for Covid in English hospitals as of 14 December.
Any talk of lockdowns, circuit-breakers or additional restrictions is barmy.
Err no.
It depends on the real data calculations for hospitilisations based on current data.
Not the Imaginarium of Neil Furgusson that is clearly bollox.
If hospitalisations go to 3000+ a day for 2 weeks the NHS will break but that depends on the average stay in hospital.
It's actually more likely to break from staff absences (10% in London ATM) and bed blocking actually but there you go. Clearing the decks of planned smadmissions and getting the army in on stand by as temporary orderlies would help there

Bumped into an old school friend yesterday in a Boots Store, no mask. He’s off to Gambia Friday with his Gambian wife. Said he’s not having the jab because he doesn’t believe Covid exists, he also said very loudly “fucking state of the queues in here” proper embarrassing, I asked him not to swear and reminded him it’s Christmas shopping time, he said “I dont give a fuck”, ironically his Birthday is December 25th.

Anyway I looked it up on the net, he will have to have a negative PCR test less than 72 hours before he flies, on arrival in Banjul he will be tested again and if positive will be held at a “Government Facility” for 10 days and will need to test negative before being allowed out. On his return to England he will have to self isolate for 10 days and have pre booked PCR tests on day’s 2 and 8. So for the sake of being jabbed he’s going to pay around £200 in PCR tests, a fee in Gambia for a test and a couple of weeks off work in January.

I just don’t understand the stupidity of people like him, the schadenfreude in me hopes he gets the virus and misses the holiday or even better he’ll held in a mud hut in Gambia for 10 days whilst his Mrs gets pummelled by the Village Mr Big.
So going on holiday is your reason for the jab? it could be worse he could be going to Australia where he would be held in a concentration camp

I’ve tested Positive
definitely felt tired, achey and lightheaded all week. But my fault going out a lot to packed places.

what’s frustrating is if i just did LFT I would be showing negative- yet first PCR test and I’m positive
Hope you recover quickly. You should

Think the greater irony is that you met him in Boots. Wasn’t in buying man-made remedies for other fictitious ailments by any chance? They don’t do cures for stupidity, alas.

Lynx 2 for 1 Xmas special like every other male in the UK does at this time of year!! Haha!

Using private hospitals and GP`s banning private patients and consultations for the duration of COVID would eradicate the problem the 6 million backlog would be reduced as well.

Yes but when the situation is unequivocally fine right now we cannot trash the economy and remove people's freedom of choice based on projections.
I do not know the level at which the NHS would 'break' however it struggles every winter bar none with operations cancelled and certain aspects of care deprioritised.

However we do not ruin the lives of tens of millions in order to save the lives of thousands because we are not, are rather were not, completely f*****g insane.

All the best mate, you will be OK. I've just had it this past week - I was showing positive on both LFT and PCR.

I had the aches and what not for one day, the rest of the week has been like a really bad cold. I'm just coming out of it now really - tested positive last Saturday. Just take it easy.

Absolutely not, I had the vaccine to protect me, my family and friends and any other people I come into contact with. I’m all for dishing out punitive “punishment” for the dick heads who don’t get jabbed. I’ve not been on holiday for over three years and have no intention of doing so until we are in better shape.
