He was giving the impression that four could be easily reopened?
The impression is often different from the reality. I heard a similar comment during the House debate on Tuesday, and it sounded more like a prove it statement: ‘if it’s really that bad or going to be, then why aren’t you reopening the Nightingales?’

Of course, the MP and the Minister both know that there are insufficient staff to run them (neither can admit that in public, naturally), and the comment was made in the context of the debate on further restrictions and introducing COVID passports, measures which certain Conservatives strongly oppose.

Absolutely not, I had the vaccine to protect me, my family and friends and any other people I come into contact with. I’m all for dishing out punitive “punishment” for the dick heads who don’t get jabbed. I’ve not been on holiday for over three years and have no intention of doing so until we are in better shape.
Fair do`s but i am not into the punishment thing after all i would not call someone who dies taking the jab, and as you go lower in age the higher your % of death goes up plus went you are dishing out 60 million doses 4 times a year of the same chemicals, well we will never see the numbers but i will not call the parents dickhead for trying to stop a virus without the tools to do so.

If someone wants to add risk to their health it’s up to them but they’ll be using an NHS bed and driving up the stress for staff members unnecessarily.

That said, we shouldn’t force people but we can and should call them cunts.

I suspect a small % of those opposed would reluctantly follow any new restrictions but I imagine the vast majority would just ignore and it will just drive more house parties
YouGov ran another survey , i did not see it but the questions were apparently leading, so the 85% in favour of mandatory Vaccination was laughed of, but an independent survey ran with 49% for

No mate you should not call them cunts, but i do not think charging them ignoring Government advice should be ruled out, but that raises another problem how many of them are already private patients?

Using private hospitals and GP`s banning private patients and consultations for the duration of COVID would eradicate the problem the 6 million backlog would be reduced as well.
They used private hospitals in the first wave. The daughter of someone I work with works at a private hospital on Harley Street and they turned half of it over to the NHS very early on in the pandemic

Your numbers only work if the private sector currently has no one being treated. The total number of sick and in need of surgery is what it is wherever they are being treated.

The only hospital data we get on Saturdays is in Scotland.

They posted 5917 cases (up 50% on last week) but patients fell by 28 to 494 - first time under 500 in Scotland since August.

I can only think the boosters are why patients are dropping as cases escalate.

The Northern Ireland age related data I posted yesterday shows this clearly. Over 60s numbers falling. Under 20s numbers rising. Scotland quite likely replicating it. Hence fewer going into hospital.

Omicron may or may not make a difference but as of now this is clearly going the opposite way to what you would expect heading towards mid winter.

Good news is worth posting in here too these days.

Can't rule out the possibility that cases being driven by Omicron aren't as severe as hence aren't leading to more hospital admissions.

Maybe we could. Maybe National Insurance should be like insurance with terms. If you leave your keys in the car and it’s nicked, you pay for it yourself. If you don’t take similar precautions with your health pay for it yourself. If injured driving pissed or you don’t vaccinate pay for it yourself.

All these unvaccinated morons’ principles go out of the window when hit with it. Suddenly they will be happy to be treated with medicines produced as quickly as the vaccine by the same companies.

They are increasing quite sharply in London though so unlikely it is that. More likely vaccination take up and booster take up I would have thought. 25% of Londonders are completely unvaccinated. We will know more in the next couple of weeks.
