Well thats the mrs tested positive this morning, she had her booster on thursday, did a negative test yesterday and now without leaving the house since friday is positive.
Me and the kids all negative, from what I can tell off the nhs website myself and the kids dont have to isolate, or has this been changed?

It prevented me from getting seriously ill and needing hospital treatment, which I may or may not have been had I not had the jabs.
People catching it then not being ill isn't the problem.
And you are correct with the word prevent. Prevent is to make something less likely to occur not to stop it happening altogether. Look up the percentages of people catching Covid who have and haven't had the jabs and you'll see that it does prevent (not stop).

You mention these things every day, yet, when push comes to shove, if a lockdown is introduced, you’ll adhere to it.

Therefore all you are doing is making unnecessary noise?

United are believed to be one of the clubs with the lowest vaccination rates in the top flight and have struggled to convince their players to get jabbed.

I seriously hope you are not suggesting we just keep quiet and do as we are told unquestionably?

My xmas has been planned for months. my family visits have been planned for months and no amount of restrictions or lockdowns will change them im afraid.

Get your vaccines, get your boosters, get on with living.

But they are not the same. Nuclear meltdown is a known and quantifiable risk. We have theoretical and practical data which we use to minimise the risk. You cannot eradicate the risk entirely, but you can reduce it to a statistical risk.

Covid is unknown. We have no practical hard data. Effectively, we are the hard data and what happens to us will be the hard data used by future generations. Just as we use the past data on flu to inform policy.

Incidentally, Germany did decide to phase out nuclear power based on the risk. Wrongly, in my opinion.

True. I’ll adapt to whatever is decided. Zero point in cynically dissecting each bit of data analysis. We aren’t in charge.

I‘m awaiting the daily mention of Ferguson. It’ll add 20 pages to the thread with people calling him a **** etc.

Guess if it makes people feel better, it’s not totally pointless.

Thanks but it doesn’t use the word prevent at all; protection and resistance don’t equate to prevention.
