While we don't know all the facts I think Phil needs to have a long think about what kind of footballer he wants to be and the legacy he wants to leave behind.

If he's happy staying at his current level and go out on the piss then that would be disappointing but that is his choice. However if he wants to take his game to the next level and go down as one of the greats of the game then he needs to pack it in and get his head down and focus on nothing but football. He isn't the 17 year old prospect anymore he's 21 and these are the most important years for him.

Tbh I would trust Pep in any decision he makes, although I have trust in him to resolve this without needing to do anything so drastic.
I don't think for one second he'd do anything drastic.

Also, trusting pep with every decision suggests that you have luckily forgot the UCL final team selection...(i know, I know, I should let it fucking go.)

Just seen this, and am a bit disappointed in him and Grealish if Im being honest. Sure players can do what they want in their free time, but when games are being postponed left right and centre because of the wave of omicron spreading over the country, its a bit irresponsible to go out to a night club and more or less put our next game/s in jeopardy, especially with a tough Christmas schedule coming up. Am not saying they have to be locked inside, but going to a night club under the current conditions is basically like asking for it. They put themselves ahead of the team and was benched as a result of it. A bit concerning this is not a one of for Phil, and it do seems like he dont understand, or care, what the implication could be if this reckless action caused a outbreak within the team.

With that said, as long as they got the message, we dont need to make a bigger deal out of this than it is. In the end of the day, they managed to avoid catching the virus and no harm done. Hopefully coming back in the team more focused as a result of it.

Foden and Grealish both heavily featured in today’s training video on the OS.
So a storm in a teacup. And some ludicrous overreactions, groundless speculation and flights of fancy on here

Does that mean Pep was overreacting ha?

They got a bollocking, were benched but now back training with the first team. Expect at least one or maybe even both to start against Leicester.
We’ve gone clear at the top of the league so expect the negative headlines to kick in, even on a day when a united player was banned for driving while disqualified.

We never got these headlines with any of the foreign players we have signed, only the Brit boys make bad press, and Pep will not tolerate this.

The Big Bum Latina's story came out after he'd already been arrested, so I wasn't laughing about it, and I don't remember many others finding it funny either.

This hardly matters, but the bolded part is definitely not true and a lot of people found it hilarious at the time. Story came out a very very long time before he was arrested, back in January.

From memory Foden doesn't really drink, or he didn't a few years ago even when he was on the open top bus parade

To be fair I barely drunk at all when I was 19 and had a borderline drinking problem by 21. Not saying for a minute that he has a drinking problem but he's certainly at the most common age where people's drinking habits change.

He was arrested in December last year, remember? Everyone knew it was him but the press couldn't name him.

Seems like Phil is taking the heat on this forum (rightly so) where as Jack as the senior pro gets no comments on his thread.

People don't care as much about Jack. He's not one of us in that same sense and everyone knew his reputation before he signed. Dare I say it's one of the reasons some of us weren't quite as keen on him joining.

Phil is local, younger and has talent Jack (and billions of others) could only dream of. He's already been caught fucking around and people will start to worry that he might go the way of other former England internationals, rightfully or wrongfully. Basically, he's just held to a higher standard and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

As it turns out, it looks like they were both bollocked for turning up to work hungover. No big deal but I hope it doesn't become a regular occurrence.
