Newcastle United (A) - Post-Match Thread

Possibly. More likely unblinkered in this case.

The majority, all too often, believe what they're told to believe.

But! When you look at it from another angle you might be right.....

Probably suits Newcastle better that no penalty was given. They wouldn't have won anyway and it gives them an injustice to hang their hat on.
Another great day out in Geordie land. Hope they stay up if only for the day out even if the bouncers at the pub were a little over zealous

A decent & thoroughly professional performance. Our chance conversion rate has got to be pretty low which didn't matter too much in this match, but against tougher opponents, that's when a world class striker will make the difference.

Onwards & upwards.

Went to our usual watering hole Rosie's Bar only to discover it's now home fans only. We've been going there for years and never any problems. TBF the bouncers were really polite about it & suggested we go around the corner to Spoons. Good atmosphere in there with Blues & Barcodes mixing quite happily, so nothing lost. The Rosie's bouncers told us that some Hammers fans caused a load of trouble last time they played there so no away fans allowed any more. It's always a few dickheads who fcuk it up for the majority of normal well behaved supporters.

At a rough guess I'd suggest @Vic is bothered about the laws of the game and their interpretation as he has some refereeing qualifications, unlike so many on here and in the Sky and MOTD studios.

Well, perhaps he can contact the PGMOL directly and ask for clarification as to what standard or law they used to not award Fraser a penalty.

They were robbed I tell ya!

If not for our 4 goals and their lack of a penalty, they would have had a chance!

Gosh! do we have to wait till sunday for me next Citeh fix?
I'm experiencing a blue cold turkey.

But, a well deserved rest for the lads, after plucking magpies feathers and erasing barcodes.

That said, Where was the Fucking YELLOW CARD for the barcode that barged into Ederson, while Cancelo was in total control of the ball? Yes C-O-N control. Twatkinson bent as fuck.
Fraser was already diving to simulate an Ederson foul and win a penno. Yellay cahd all day guvnohr.

Hopefully another foxes hunting ahead.

I notice that any highlights video has edited out Don Goodman's summary of Cancelo's goal which went something like
"A great goal"
Then the goal was replayed and Goodman continued
"Well he skips round .... too easily, and he shouldn't have been able to cut inside, and the Newcastle centre halves didn't close him down. Yes it was a good hit, but, it was far too easy "

I don't need to do that to know it wasn't anything to do with what you said.

It would be nice if they actually had the bottle to say it, but I can only assume Atkinson decided both Ederson and Fraser just kept going the way they were going before Cancelo nicked the ball, and collided. Call it a "coming together" if you like. And VAR failed to disagree.

Shearer is a fucking wanker, did he spot how Dias finished up with a busted eye? Or why no action was taken when Joelinton and the Ritchie elbowed City players in the ribs off the ball? No, thought not, ****.
I didn't spot how Dias got a busted eye. I saw the Ritchie elbow.

agree 100%, I like to think I am fairly objective, my initial thought was “diving ****”, the more replays, the more it seemed if anything Ederson stopped and Fraser simulated a collision.

Sure it was. They do have laws and standards, ya know. Anyway - we move on.
