Anti Vax Demonstration outside South Stand

If you think i alluded to COVID 19,20,21 i apologize that was not the intention, but i do know why Viruses mutate, as Mr Whitty said there have been a 1,000 mutations but then he would have had to have had a job in the lab to know that, he also said half of Britain's school kids had COVID before pushing for kids to have the jab.

But the point being they mutate to spread.

Let’s look at the main variants

Alpha - variant of SARs and the first covid virus. At this point we started to wear masks and keep our distance

Delta - much more transmissible than Alpha, this mutation made social distancing and masks slightly less effective - although far from ineffective.

Omicron - much more transmissible than delta with a much shorter incubation period - this mutation makes vaccines slightly less effective and similarly masks and social distancing - again although far from ineffective. This mutation also thankfully appears it might be less severe.

So what we can see is everything we are doing is causing the virus to mutate to “counter it” - now this isn’t by some higher intelligence of the virus rather it’s a natural occurrence of all but the primary point is if our measures were ineffective the variants wouldn’t need to be more transmissible etc. ie it’s only the variants that are better at getting through that are managing to become dominant.

For those old enough to remember, there used to be a guy with a board strapped to his body on the Main Stand forecourt at Maine Road, proclaiming the end is nigh. He would shout that we sinners should repent as the world will end tomorrow. He would be back the next week shouting the same thing with the same certainty. If he were here now, he would presumably be a vaccine sceptic and COVID denier and would doubtless have his own website.

I tested positive Monday and have spent Xmas isolating on my own feeling grim. But I am so thankful I’ve had three jabs and that it’s been no worse than just feeling awful and fed up. Maybe I would have been ok anyway, but I wouldn’t want to chance it.

That is an extremely convoluted excuse, and highly unlikely to be accurate, but lets say you are right, why has the Government reintroduced masks if the virus knows how to bypass them.

Probably because it stops the ignorant coughers, you know the ones I mean, the ones that cough loud as fuck, with no hands to mouth, hacking and spitting as they go, we have all seen them, scummers who think it is amusing, when in reality it is a disgusting thing to be doing inside or outdoors, they are nothing but wankers.

Same as the cunts who push past at the supermarket as 'you' use the cleaning products.

The other thing is, what if the virus has mutated to spread further and faster, what happens then if the next mutation reintroduces the killer factor again?

I'm no scientist but I guess it could mutate either or any way it chooses to do so?

*Types “scientific evidence masks work to slow spread of viruses” into Google… gets thousands of results of studies, reports and articles within two seconds*
This article on the efficacy of mask-wearing is pretty good and doesn’t take long to read:

Got a few of the more egregious denier/anti-vax loons on ignore. But are some people really citing DAVID FUCKING ICKE as a credible source?
Jesus wept. Too much internet for me today, I’m off for a pint
Well said. I’ll join you. There is no point in arguing with the “anti” brigade. Pointless and only entrenches their views. Ignore them and they will go somewhere else. Post positive and helpful views, but don’t quote their conspiracy nonsense

I had to pop into a local convenience store this morning for one ingredient my wife had forgotten to buy. There were ten people in the queue, only five wore masks, myself included. One ill-advised old chap tapped a yob and said he should be wearing a mask, and the yob said “f-off, no f-er tells me what to do, f-off and die!” I live in Bournemouth, aren’t there any nice young people left any more?

Everywhere has idiots but I think Bournemouth has more decent young people than most places. For everyone behaving like that there are many others, considering others

It’s really odd, loads of doctors who previously wore masks as part of their job, now also wear them out and about as part of covid health measures. Bizarre. It’s as though they know some scientific health reasoning.

The covid death figures, I’ve already pointed you at via the nightingale diagrams. It’s quite easy to see the increase above average deaths, due to ‘something’, which most people easily recognize as being a correlation with covid spread. Unless, as already asked you can provide another reason for the very large above average lines, that has eluded the health scientific community for the past 2 years?

As the unvaxxed make up the higher proportionate amount of people in hospital with covid, and presumably deaths, it’s a fairly simple step to see that the covid vaccines limit hospitalisations and death.

doesn’t help that all the scientists telling us masks work and we need to wear them were seen by millions on TV at the start of this telling us they don’t work

You cough and spit as a natural reaction.its your body naturally expelling the mucus .....which is behind all illness.
I'm sorry you don't like the sound of a cough ..but it's natural.
Putting a muzzle over your lips and nose is not.

There were two reasons for that. Firstly, there was a global shortage of the grade of masks needed for medical staff and they needed to avoid all and sundry stockpiling them. Secondly, the data on the virus was insufficient to say if lower grade masks were able to provide any protection and whether untrained mask wearers would actually make matters worse by not handling and disposing of them correctly. Eventually we got enough data to say masks were a good idea and so the advice changed.

Did you not read my post?

I said you know the ones I mean, the ones that cough loudly, you know way over the top in the look at me coughing and spitting everywhere during a pandemic because I'm a ****.

Those type not your normal people who cough you know normally.

But yeah you take it the most indignant way you can.

There is no point in arguing with the “anti” brigade.

Although he wasn't writing about anti-vaxxers when he wrote his book Believing Bullshit, the philosopher Stephen Law has an amusing take on the reasoning processes that underpin this type of thinking, one which could equally be applied to Young Earth Creationism, Climate Change Denial, QAnon and David Icke-type conspiracy theorising, and other belief systems that arguably remain impervious to criticism for those who subscribe to them:

'The Strange Case of Dave

Dave believes dogs are spies from the planet Venus. He views any canine with great suspicion, for he believes they are here from Venus to do reconnaissance work. Dogs, Dave supposes, secretly send their reports back to Venus, where the rest of their fiendishly cunning alien species are meticulously planning their invasion of the earth. Their spaceships will shortly arrive from Venus to enslave the human race and take over the world. Unsurprisingly, Dave’s friends think he has a screw loose and try to convince him that dogs are comparatively benign pets, not cunning alien spies. Here’s a typical example of how their conversations with Dave go:

DAVE: It’s only a matter of weeks now! The spaceships will arrive and then you’ll wish you’d listened to me. We must act now—let the government know!
MARY: Look, Dave, dogs are pretty obviously not space invaders, they’re just dumb pets. Dogs can’t even speak, for goodness sake, let alone communicate with Venus!
DAVE: They can speak—they just choose to hide their linguistic ability from us. They wait till we leave the room before they talk to each other.
PETE: But Venus is a dead planet, Dave. It’s horrifically hot and swathed in clouds of acid. Nothing could live there, certainly not a dog!
DAVE: Dogs don’t live on the surface of Venus, you fool—they live below, in deep underground bunkers.
MARY: But then how do earth-bound dogs communicate with their allies on Venus? I’ve got a dog, and I’ve never found an alien transmitter hidden in his basket.
DAVE: They don’t use technology we can observe. Their transmitters are hidden inside their brains!
MARY: But Pete is a vet, and he’s X-rayed several dog’s heads, and he’s never found anything in there!
PETE: In fact, I once chopped up a dog’s brain in veterinary school—let me assure you, Dave, there was no transmitter in there!
DAVE: You’re assuming their transmitters would be recognizable as such. They are actually made of organic material indistinguishable from brain stuff. That’s why they
don’t show up on X-rays. This is advanced alien technology, remember—of course we cannot detect it!
MARY: But we don’t detect any weird signals being directed
at Venus from the earth.
DAVE: Of course, we don’t—like I said, remember, this is advanced alien technology beyond our limited understanding!
PETE: How do dogs fly spaceships? They don’t even have hands. So they can’t hold things like steering wheels and joysticks.
DAVE: Really, Pete. Think about it. You are assuming that their spacecraft will be designed to be operated by human hands. Obviously they won’t. They’ll be designed to be manoeuvred by a dog’s limbs, mouth, tongue, and so on.

You can see how this conversation might continue
ad nauseum. Mary and Pete can keep coming up with evidence against Dave’s belief that dogs are Venusian spies. But, given sufficient ingenuity, Dave can always salvage his core theory. He can continually adjust and develop it so that it continues to “fit” the evidence.

Confirmation —The “Fit” Model

Clearly, Dave’s theory about dogs is not well confirmed by the available evidence. The first moral we can extract from this example is that, whatever is required in order for a theory to be well confirmed, rather more is required than achieving mere consistency with that evidence.

As Dave illustrates, any belief, no matter how ludicrous, can be made consistent with the available evidence, given a little patience and ingenuity. Believe that the earth is flat, that the moon is made of cheese, that the World Trade Centre was brought down by the US government, or that George W. Bush is really Elvis Presley in disguise? All these theories can be endlessly adjusted and developed so that they remain consistent with the available evidence. Yet they are obviously not well confirmed. The claim that Young Earth Creationism is at least as well confirmed as its scientific rivals relies crucially on what we might call the “fit” model of confirmation. According to the “fit” model, confirmation is all about “fitting” the evidence. But more is required for genuine confirmation than mere “fit,” which any theory, no matter how absurd, can in principle achieve.'

Absolute Bollocks
