Slime.
There was a craze for this fookin stuff a couple of years ago, we banned the shit from our house but unbeknown to us our lad got some in a party bag and proceeded to spill some on his bedroom carpet. 3 years on and the slime patch is still there, and lethaly slippery when stood on. Gone arse over tit many times when standing on it, would rather stand on lego.

Put a rug over it !!

Probably bordering on big things that bug me but......

Blue badge holders who think it gives them carte blanch to park like twats.

Definitely people who hog the centre lane and don't move over.

People who sit on your ass when you're driving over the limit and don't pass you.

Entitlement/Moaning. If we would just open our eyes, we all have a lot to be grateful for and should appreciate and focus on that, not spend our lives on the negative.

When they put betting odds as decimals instead of fractions. I'm no punter but I just can't work out what 1.25 means and how it relates to 1.2. "4 to 1 on" drifting to "5 to 1 on" seems a lot easier to me.

Like 85/40 or 12/5 :)

Agreed though, much prefer the 'traditional', I can understand the value much easier. Just an old timer I guess.

Yes, old timer is me too, but the old way makes sense. E.g. 85/40 would be the same as 17/8 so the chances are that you will get the result you want 8 times but not the other 17, or just slightly out from 2/1, i.e. 1 in 3.

Think of it as a multiplier of your original stake that you get back.

i.e. if a 1.25 wins, you'll get your stake x 1.25 back. 2.0 is evens as it's your winning plus your stake, hence 2x your stake.

Aye, I suppose if you bet regularly it makes sense. I can't remember the last time I had a bet, must be over 25 years! Somehow I can work out the win probability (cheers Wally) and the direction/magnitude of movement better using fractions, I have to convert these decimals.

I get it mate. I don't bet often at all, and i prefer fractions for a general sense of the odds, but if i want to figure out my winnings i find it marginally quicker with decimals, i.e.

if i put a fiver on something at 5/2 winnings are £5 / 2 * 5 = £12.50 + £5 = £17.50
if i know the decimal is (in this case) 3.5 i find it easier to just say £5 * 3.5 = £17.50

Things that are snug around my calves. high socks, tight trousers. Drives me absolutely loopy. I can't deal with it so if my socks are even slightly pulled up I have to roll them down.
