Coronavirus (2022) thread

Cases are meaningless.
Hospitalisations and deaths do need to be categorised between With and Of-Covid and Vaxed and Non-Vaxed. They have the information.
Then we won't be able to criticise the decision to open up.
600-800 a day will be on the headline death figure very soon - yet all death figures will be 8% below average for the time of year.

So when does the coronavirus inquiry start..the mother of all public inquiries

Incidently now we're over the peak, we need as many as possible of our youth to catch Omicron as possible to generate immunity for the next variant.
Probably the reason Face Masks in schools have been ditched.
A clever bloke is Patrick Vallance. It certainly looks like opening up to let folks catch Delta (20m cases) worked if you compare UK cases in this wave with the rest of Europe.

im sorry seeing low death numbers regarding Covid angers you

the information on those stats is attached to the ONS release
According to the ONS:
“Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide you with a breakdown of children in England and Wales with pre-existing medical conditions and COVID-19. In order to fulfil this request, we would need to create a bespoke analysis or table. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.”

Your stat does not exist.

Well, deliberately infecting as many as possible children with a disease currently hospitalising record numbers of them is an option, I guess.

Alternatively, we could vaccinate them against that.

Ever been in hospital with a child of yours with a severe infection?

In the context of your responses today, this is incredibly stupid.

The vast majority of the time Covid causes issues with major organs, normally your lungs and does so by leading to severe illness, for example pneumonia. Which inevitably goes down on death certificate as it’s a cause of death.

What’s next, are you going to tell us getting HIV isn’t a big deal because nobody’s death certificate has it as the only reason for death?

okey dokey

That does not back up your assertion that the only a tiny number of deaths are in people with no pre-existing conditions. Those stats are related to Covid 19 being the only thing mentioned on the death certificate. It does not suggest that they were the only ones that did not have pre-existing conditions.

do you question the people who say 156k people have died from Covid ? Do you think that’s true or a lie, do you ask if you see that number quotes if it’s necessarily correct as you know for a fact many of those numbers weren’t due to Covid ?

it’s funny how people don’t seem to get mad and touchy when the numbers are misleading high but any suggestion of low numbers is met with ridicule and insults

strange world isn’t it

Idiotic posts are met with ridicule.

And rightly so.

What does hospitalising record numbers of them even mean? It’s just a respiratory virus that affects children just like RSV, croup and bronchiolitis. Almost all are discharged after a day or 2 and are fine, with an immune system that will now be primed and working.
Meanwhile, instead of trying to vaccinate 5 year olds, we should be concentrating on the millions of elderly at risk across the world who have no access to vaccines that may well save their lives.
