I'm still dining on his player assessment of "Paulinho of Spurs is a better signing than Fernandinho of City."No comment from Tim Vickery yet?

Isn’t their a banner that says: It’s all about supporting your club. Winning is just a bonus. It's our team. The club is in safe hands, their record is pretty good and if they have a plan for Alvarez I'm sure it will be fine. What's the worst that can happen we lose some of the 15 mill fee, we'll cope. Whats the best we get another Aguero. Whats most likely we get a good player or we make a profit. That's why it isn't our problem Only what the team do on the pitch.
Indeed. And some signings are right in between. It’s not as black and white mate.Kayky was not a first team signing. Torres was ready for the Spanish national team. Ready for the responsibility is what I mean. Technically and mentally for sure.
Tim Vickery said that Marlos Moreno was one of the most exciting youngsters he'd seen from South America in years when we signed him. He's 25 now and has failed at every club he's played for since joining City.I think a few people might be underestimating this one
No comment from Tim Vickery yet? Can't see anything on his twitter
Ha, fair pointTim Vickery said that Marlos Moreno was one of the most exciting youngsters he'd seen from South America in years when we signed him. He's 25 now and has failed at every club he's played for since joining City.
For now. But the club will be hoping he'll have potential to become an important player.Basically the Torres replacement

Marlos Moreno was going to be better than Jesus too according to him.I'm still dining on his player assessment of "Paulinho of Spurs is a better signing than Fernandinho of City."
In fairness, i don't think we do a good job with some of the guys.City ruining football, and footballers, again.
Vickery is a commentator at the biggest cable tv sports channel in Brazil. I met and talked to him at an event during the 2014 World Cup and he was very nice. I think he’s a professional guy, but sometimes makes some baffling statements that don’t seem well thought through. However I sympathize with him since I saw the way he takes notes of everything he watches, which isn’t too different from how I do it.
He wasn’t the only one from the Copa Libertadores winning Atletico Nacional 2016 team that flopped. Miguel Borja, who seemed like an impressive centerforward, won that year the same “South American Player of the Year” award that Alvarez won last year and some here are touting as a big deal. Borja since then has been a disaster, being part of the squad of a relegated team in Brazil last year. The player who won the same award the year after now is a bench player at Corinthians and is seen as a joke and fraud. Of course, in recent times they did award players who lived up to expectations like Neymar, but that was an obvious pickMarlos Moreno was going to be better than Jesus too according to him.
Moreno’s the one I was thinking of. I know he looked very promising on his video highlights. Definitely wasn’t signed to go straight into the first team like Jesus; I remember he got a pretty nasty injury not long into his loan with Deportivo, so that might have slowed his development. Like others are saying, always a gamble but not much harm done at £17m if it doesn’t work, other than the opportunity cost of developing another player. He was on the BBC a few days ago raving about him.
Although when we signed Jesus and Marlo Moreno at the same time he did say Moreno was the better player and he hasn't made a single appearance for us
I have to agree with this comment. Can you imagine how these guys cope ? Leave their families at a tender age. Different climate. Have to then adapt to a new language. Then shipped out to various clubs and maybe other languages have to be learned. Some may deal with this, but equally am not surprised many like Moreno fall by the wayside. They come for the money and the glory, which is understandable.City certainly make money from the academy. But do not criticise these guys when it goes wrong, they face obstacles in their careers that most of us never have to contend with.In fairness, i don't think we do a good job with some of the guys.
