No club is going to pay £750m release and Madrid also worried about him leaving for free, so trying to stretch the contract duration beyond the norm.

There is no way he says yes to that, 750 million Is more than Mbappes rumoured release clause when he signs. That locks him at Madrid for the prime years of his career.

Riddiculas release clauses the big spanish clubs come out with, just hope we dont mess about with this one too long, and end up gettin our fingers burnt again, idd rather city come out and distance themselves from deal publicly if its not goin too happen, have you heard of any alternatives if this one isnt going to get across line ,with vlahovic snapped up from juve?

Some very big news from Haaland end.

Haaland and Mino are refusing the huge buyout clause Madrid are proposing.

To the point, they have told them
they want nothing to do with any golden handcuffs deal.

City are still alive here...
Oh yeah I almost forgot they have to have release clauses in Spain. No doubt they’d want it at 1 billion like Barca have with many

Couldn't they just lessen the length of the contract to, say four years and insert a crazy release clause.

Then negotiate a much more manageable release clause in a new contract after three, kicking in after the would be original fourth season, if he wanted out after that time?

I just don't see it being all or nothing, Madrid do realise that Mino is his agent, yes? That 10 years there is as likely as me riding Jessica Alba like Seabiscuit tonight.

He would obviously want a release clause if he signed with us as well. Having no release clause is basically the same (or worse) as having a super high one.

Yeah but I can’t see it being as ridiculous as Madrids

The more I'm seeing about hallands demands his agents demands also I see he is now starting to pick up Injuries too I hope we walk away. Hopefully alvarez comes in and say maybe another back up ie schick or maybe a 3 or 4 Yr stint off kane if we can get him for 60/70m

I mean even the bench players at Madrid have huge release clauses. Why not just sign a 5 year contract and leave for free at the end of it?

He admires Zlatans career and how he's played for many clubs. He said in a interview its something that fascinates him. With Madrid putting a huge clause that would end any dream of hopping club to club.
That'll be the "Raiola Way"...10 clubs over about a 22 year career.
Longest at any club was 4 years at PSG,I think.
3 at 2 other clubs, and the rest 2 or less years.
Raiola being his agent is my concern.
You never know when he's gonna upset the apple cart.

Whatever it is they are insisting upon, Mino and Alfie don't like it one bit.

It's a deal that essentially takes him off the market until early 30s.

not really, if he signs a 5 year contract now he’d be 26/27 with a year left on his contract there. Now the release clause could be a billion but if he refuses to sign a new contract Madrid would either have to sell him then or lose him for free the next summer.

I would love to see Haaland leading the line for us but unfortunately think this has Madrid all over it.

I can’t see the length of contract and buy-out clause stopping the whole deal. When Madrid want someone they normally get what they want.

I also don’t like the sound of a star striker staying at a club for only 3-4 years, City have made it clear they only want players who want to play for the shirt… doesn’t seem to fit our transfer policy if Haaland will have his eye on a move after 2 years.

Hoping I’m wrong of course, I think having Haaland would be the missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle.
Haaland under Pep would be insane.

So if Haaland joins Madrid. Who's left

Darwin Nunez
Joao Felix
Harry Kane

Or will City surprise us with someone who we haven't been linked with like Jonathan David.

How long were Sané and Ferran Torres here?
People are assuming that he would get here and leave in a few years. Why would he leave if he were winning for club and individual awards, being a star, making money from the club and off the pitch? It’s absolutely not a given that he would leave

I insist that Haaland will not join Real Madrid
