Kyle Walker banned for 3 CL games | appeal rejected (pg 16)

Yeah "given them the opportunity" by ruthlessly swiping his legs from behind with zero intention of going for the ball resulting in one of the most obvious red cards you'll ever see. As if there was ever another option for a foul like that.
In a dead rubber when we'd already topped the group in an empty stadium of all fucking things.

Seen far worse unpunished, it is clear there is a vendetta against us. Fuck them, we have Cancelo. I feel sorry for Kyle though, a red was enough.

Seems overly harsh, they did the same to Wan-Bissaka earlier in the season for a pretty similar foul but United appealed and got it knocked back down.

I wonder why City aren’t doing the same.
It wasn't actually that similar in terms of the laws of the game. The Wan-Bissaka straight red was for a very clumsy but not especially malicious tackle deemed on the night to be dangerous and he was given a two game ban. It was subsequently downgraded to a one game ban on appeal.

Walker's ban is for a tackle deemed to be violent conduct which in UEFA competitions gets an automatic three game ban (possibly a longer one than that if the perpetrator is a repeat offender). The chances of getting that reduced on appeal are close to zero even if there's an argument to be had - the dark lords of UEFA tend to close ranks on decisions like this one and never show any kind of leniency.

No surprise, Walker was an idiot. Hopefully we should have enough to progress to the QF

Can't believe the bookies didn't pick up on an unprecedented amount of bets that went on a red card in that game.

Oh no that was a yellow and was at an Arsenal game.

Either way it seemed a little strange for Walker to lash out/kick out in a game with basically fuck all riding on it.

Like someone pointed out earlier he was having personal issues.
Footballers are only human at the end of the day.
I forgive you Kyle as long as we, re still in the comp when you return. (which I'm confident we will be).

PS
GET FUCKED UEFA

The lad from Rangers only got a three game ban and he literally lamped a guy

No difference for me if the intent is clear.

Sure, a fist to the face can cause plenty of damage and sometimes more.

Kyle's kick, whether out of malice or frustration, left him wide open to whatever some faceless review panel chose to deliver.

We will certainly miss him across the three games I expect us to play.

Why do you think, we are not in the cartel

So just to be clear, you think Wan-Bissaka got his ban increased because United are in the cartel and then reduced on appeal because they're in the cartel?

Or were they only in the cartel when they appealed?

Would it not have been easier for the cartel to have the initial review body not increase the ban?

Stupid is as stupid does. Is it harsh? Quite possibly, yes. But why the fuck did he do it? It was needless. And now we pay the price for his petulance. He's been fantastic this season, and he'll be a big miss. I hope he learns from it.

I was absolutely fuming at the time because I presumed it would be a 3 match ban.

Let his team down big time.

Someone upthread was speaking about his brainfarts and I thought, this aside, he hasn't made any in about 3 or 4 seasons. He's been our most consistent player imo. So like I said he has plenty of goodwill in the bank. Cancelo and Zinc/Ake should be good enough to get the job done.

He’s been immense for us. I wouldn’t say underrated because he is very much rated, but his position I suppose doesn’t give him the credit a forward would get for his consistency. One of our best purchases by far and shows no signs of slowing down.

I was joking, don't take life so seriously.

We're not appealing as it was, according to UEFA, assault.

Enjoy your evening.
