I don’t completely agree. He wanted to go out on a high, and winning the rags' 20th title was about as high as he could achieve.

If Agüeroooooooooo! hadn’t happened, he would have gone the previous season, IMHO.

Spot on... what Rags fail to grasp is that their period of domination under Ferguson wasn't the norm - it was the exception!
