That is a pretty incredible stat.

League being a bit of a key word in there, but still one heck of a reassuring and impressive claim to hold.

I suppose we could sequence win one, lose one, of our remaining 14 games, but it sort of puts in to perspective the remarkable winning machine we have become!

I'd expect us to take at least 30 points from our remaining 42.

That's ninety points right there. Call it two losses and three draws from 14, or even three losses and a draw (which would be an eleven point drop on the latter)

Liverpool are basically going to have to do 41 points from remaining 48 to clip 91 points and if any of those lost seven points are against City, it will become 44 points from 48 or 43.

If my maths are right?

Spurs - we seem cursed against them at times. Conte will make it tough.
united - can’t remember last time we beat them at home
everton - always tough place to go and under lampard the ground will be rocking.
Norwich - should be Ok but have won 3 of their last 4.
I think we should take every game as it comes.

But over the last 10 games we've beat Everton 27-6, winning 9 and drawing once. We have won the last 9 games on the bounce.

10 wins 2 draws 2 defeats would give us 92 pts, if we beat them they would need 15 wins from 15 games.

we need 11 wins from 14 including a win against Liverpool to be certain. In essence if we win against liverpool it is pretty much over for them. so our immediate aim should be win all the 6 matches between now and our match against liverpool and then we will have the chance to end the title race at the beginning of april

It’s not only about city winning but also dippers dropping points .

no it is not about dippers dropping points but about how they will drop points. it is more of a confidence issue, both teams can go on winning runs as shown before. so essentially the idea should be to demoralize them. if we win all the games till the head to head and then also beat them in that game the title race is basically over as contest in any meaningful sense.

if the gap is still 6 points after those fixtures, I'd start to worry. Given Liverpool would still have two games in hand.
Pretty sure Liverpool play 6 games in the league by the time we have played our next 4. They have Leicester tonight and Leeds a week Wednesday I believe where as we have a free week in between Everton and United.

In regards to the interesting post from @Cobwebcat I gusss I am a very pessimistic person by nature. I have backed Liverpool at the bookies to soften the blow if the worst happens. May as well make money from my misery.

City have cost me quite a lot of money over the years as they thankfully continue to win things. Only real win was the champs league final which with the winnings aloud us to get a dog my son named foden. Sometimes I hate that dog.

If dippers lose a game and a draw , it’s over.
Head room we have will be wider than mane’s double forehead.

Dippers have to go to Arsenal don’t they, I think that will be a key game, hopefully Arteta can do us a favour.

Sorry, I saw our next 4 games listed, against Liverpool's next 4 games.

Point taken then, if it is still 6 points means we'd both have won all our games in that stretch and we'd be on the same number played.

I'm looking at it from the point of view that if we lose one game we'll only be 3 points ahead and still to play them.

So technically one loss and it's back in Liverpool's hands... hope that restores your twitchiness!

I'm still quite relaxed. They have a better squad, but a lot of games to catch up on and it can take its toll. We need to have a drop off in form and they need to put a run together. Based on the last few seasons both of those scenarios are quite unlikely to happen at the same time. They've had two great seasons and still only managed to win the title once.

But we've come back from bigger gaps before, so it is possible and you know they'll be focussed on taking all three points at our place the way we were when we played them in that January to peg them back. Overall unless something amazing happens they don't seem the same cohesive defensively robust unit they once were. Cardiff's goal was very easy and a lot of teams have cut them open like that this season - Leicester being one.

Mate come on. They have a better squad. Not in a million years. Granted they do have some very good players but our squad outweighs that mob by a country mile.
